There are 5 types of accommodation for international students in the UK***!
1.Basic Room
Basic Room refers to a single room with only the most basic furniture and facilities. The bathroom, toilet and kitchen are all for private use. Flats with three or less Basic Rooms are equipped with one bathroom, and flats with four to seven Rooms are equipped with two bathrooms. Basic Room is the most affordable option.
2.En-suite Room
Ensuite Room is another type of single room. The difference between it and the Basic room is that the room has a separate toilet and bathroom. The kitchen is shared. Because it has a private bathroom, the Ensuite Room is a little more expensive than the Basic room.
3. Studio Room
Studio is a very common room type, similar to the studio we are talking about now. The size ranges from 12 square meters to 30 square meters. The rooms will provide facilities such as beds, desks, wardrobes, toilets, bathrooms, and kitchens.
As soon as you enter the Studio, there is an area with kitchen equipment. This kind of kitchen is not suitable for cooking dishes with high oil fumes, such as Chinese stir-fries. Studio is a relatively expensive room type and is suitable for students who are financially well-off and like to live in peace and quiet.
4.One Bedroom Flat
1 bedroom flat is what we call one bedroom and one living room. This kind of room has complete facilities and a relatively large area. Compared with Studio Room, the living area and kitchen are separated from the bedroom. This type of room is suitable for students who have higher requirements for quality of life and want to have their own space.
5.Cluster Flat/Flat/Apartment
Usually students living in the Ensuite Room share a public kitchen with other students. This whole unit is called Cluster Flat. Multiple Ensuite Rooms together are called Cluster Flat, or simply Flat or Apartment. This kind of flat is suitable for students who like liveliness and social interaction.
