Brief introduction of mysterious code plot
1959, at the ceremony to celebrate the completion of William Dawes Primary School, children put their paintings in a time capsule and buried them under the foundation. One of them, a seemingly mysterious little girl named Lucinda, wrote lines of seemingly irregular numbers on her paintings.
Fifty years have passed in an instant. On the 50th anniversary of William Dawes Elementary School, the school opened the time capsule and distributed the masterpieces of students 50 years ago to the present students. Lucinda's drawing paper reached a child named kaleb Kessler (Chandler Canterbury), and this drawing paper caught the attention of kaleb's father, Professor Kessler (Nicolas Cage), an astronomy professor at MIT. Professor Kessler found that the figures on this map accurately recorded the date of major disasters and the number of deaths in the past 50 years; What surprised him even more was that it also recorded three disasters that would happen. The last one was a global catastrophe, and he and his son would also be involved. Professor Kessler tried to solve the coming crisis through the authorities, but others thought he was alarmist and had to go it alone. With the help of Diana Welland her daughter Abby Welland (Laura Robinson), Professor Kessler has been trying to race against time until he has to face the ultimate disaster and sacrifice. ...
[{The Best Film Review of Douban}]
At the beginning of the film, the female teacher put the children's paintings into a container called "time capsule". Although the female teacher said "time capsule" easily and naturally, at that time, a strange feeling swept the whole body, a chill emerged from the ground, and even gave me goose bumps. So, I assumed in my mind that this was a "mystery play".
When men in black appear frequently, 8 1 people are killed in the air crash, and the subway disaster and the paper that can predict the disaster are pointed at, a kind of usual boredom with "disaster movies" arises spontaneously. Because it seems to only show the "naivety" of human beings and the helplessness and uneasiness of being unable to change their own destiny. What can disaster movies bring besides making people feel useless? Maybe it's just the box office
Later, I found that watching this film, there is a kind of carefree "mountains and heavy waters are suspicious and there is no way, and the future is bright and the village is bright". Because John was anxious to find evidence of the disaster in Lucinda's former residence, he found a painting with the words "Ezekiel" written on it. This word is "Ezekiel" in the Bible. A prophet predicted the end of the Israeli nation, even all nations, and the end of the world. Because of the eternity of faith, I realized that this is a "religious" movie. But what deserves attention is not its religiosity or its fiction, but its true belief.
Know in my eyes:
1. Understand Chinese and translate it into "Prophet"
Let me see, this is the most appropriate title. Because only this title can reflect the present situation of mankind. In the Bible, a prophet is a person who can hear the word of God and convey the commands and predictions he hears to everyone, but he is also unable to change God's plan for the prosperity or decline of a certain person or country. And this is the main line of this movie-God has an irreversible plan for the end of mankind, and most people live blindly, not knowing or understanding this plan; And a few people who know this plan can't change everything (plan or other people's ideas) through their own ability. All they can do is accept the fact that "if it's time, it's time." This is not a negative acceptance, but a positive face.
2. Men in black are angels
I have to admit that the shape of the man in black is really shocking, not at all like the angel carved on the wall of the early Catholic church, but with all due respect, it is really an angel. After integrating the plot, I found that their angel position was not excessive.
In the first half of the movie, their performance is more like a demon, sneaking up and handing caleb a small black stone, which seems to cover up some ulterior mystery. This behavior reminds me of some interesting things before I believed in God. Just moved to Los Angeles, church sisters often come to my house to ask what they are missing and what they need. They are very enthusiastic. However, in my heart, 100 people are unwilling, because their previous education is "the grace of dripping water", and they are unwilling to owe this favor, even if they can't afford it. They will "secretly" send this and that, exaggerating to nothing. I have butterflies in my stomach, and I feel something is wrong. In fact, a few weeks later, someone "secretly" gave me a Bible. This fully proves that their practice is "uneasy and kind." I saw that episode in the movie yesterday and immediately opened my heart. It turned out that they were really angels at that time, but the more I looked at them, the more they looked like demons. I just couldn't see it clearly at the time.
In the second half of the film, they told the children to go with them if they wanted to. When John caught up with the angel, he blinded him with blue light and did not hurt him; When John found his son Caleb, he found that his son was holding a rabbit and wouldn't be hurt at all. Their appearance and behavior are different from ordinary people, just because they are angels. And they appear again and again just to let people know that the end of the world is near, that is, the so-called "kingdom of heaven is near" in the Bible.
3. Others
Before her death, Ms. Lucinda wrote many others under her bed board. These are the last two letters EE in the paper she wrote when she was a child. Originally, the four-character number at the back was the latitude and longitude of the event, but this time, it was the demise of human beings around the world, and there was no latitude and longitude. It means: everyone will die! Suddenly I remembered a sentence in the Bible, "Everyone dies, and there is a judgment after death."
4. photos of 4.Ezakiel
This point has been explained in the previous paragraph.
The child can hear the voice of an angel, but his father can't.
This probably corresponds to what the Bible says: "If a person does not become a child, he will never enter the kingdom of heaven." In fact, the Bible means that a person's mind should return to the style of a child, not just physically like a child. In that case, can't all children and dwarfs go to heaven? The opposite meaning of this sentence is that if adults are pure, they will also enter the kingdom of heaven.
6. Two children and angels were taken to heaven.
It is the "mention" in eschatology. This means that some people go back to heaven without experiencing death.
7. John and his family embraced and experienced the doomsday disaster.
This is a place that everyone is easily moved, because the cohesion of the family is the strongest cohesion in the world. Why are they so sure? Because here, the most classic place in this movie, shows the true meaning of faith, as I said before. The true meaning of faith is this spirit. After suffering and disasters, we still believe that God is in charge of everything and their lives, not only tangible life, but also intangible life. Repeat this classic line: "If it's time, it's time. We are not going anywhere. "
8. Small black stones
I understand it as Jesus, because from the perspective of faith, he is the rock of the world.
9. Those blue flying objects leave the earth and rise from different places.
After the flying object that left the earth with two children rose into the air, many similar blue flying objects appeared in the lens, rising from different parts of the earth. In fact, it doesn't matter what a flying object is, its appearance is just a form of expression. Although it's not science fiction, it's just a memory of the director before the end of the world. It is very important that many of these things have arisen in different places. It mainly shows the director's religious view: all people on earth, no matter what nationality or color, can choose to fear God and have the opportunity to be "mentioned" (this is an idea I talked about earlier).
10. The tree at the end of the play
That tree is the tree of life, and the end of the world is the tree of life, eternal life. Not the tree of good and evil at the beginning of creation. Two children ran to the tree of life, which means that human beings have immortal life from now on. Humans with eternal life do not need reincarnation. There is no reincarnation in the world.
1 1. Why don't these people who know what will happen tell more people?
Some people will ask the above questions, but my question is: "Even if these people tell others about the future they know, how many people will believe it?" There have been similar scenes in the film, for example, everyone thinks that Lucinda is a "mysterious crazy" child.
I like these metaphors in movies very much, even more. As a Christian, I saw a hearty parting, and I commented on infatuation. But on second thought, what about most people? There are too many metaphors, which are difficult for people who have no belief experience to understand. In this case, Americans should be regarded as a fictional movie, while China people should be regarded as a ridiculous movie. In short, the end of the world is just a memory, a hypothesis, because no one knows the real end of the world. "On that day, at that time, no one knew, not even my son, only my father knew." So, even Jesus doesn't know, who can know? This movie also reminds us that we are only human beings.
To be honest, I don't know what is more wonderful than knowing. A spectacular ending, or a storm of brain matter caused by shocking stupidity. Fortunately, I have developed a healthy resistance to Nick Cage's obesity, so I can wipe off the gray-red ball on the exploding skull sitting next to me from my shirt, and there is only a dull ring in my ear. I hope this ring may keep me away from the armed forces. When the rest of you are recruited to avoid the impending brain death apocalypse, this is caused by Cage's stupid sucking holes in seven films to be released in the next year and a half.
It's also a pity. Because there is a moderately convincing premise under the layers of stupid cognition. Fifty years ago, a girl student with pigtails, mental illness and nonsense threw a piece of paper with a series of numbers into her primary school time capsule. Now, johann koss Le (Cage) and his son Caleb (chandler canterbury) got the paper when the time capsule was unearthed. A drunken John who just lost his wife discovered the meaning behind the numbers. They represent every major national tragedy in the past 50 years-date, death toll and GPS positioning. In the simplest terms, these figures challenge John's belief in the randomness of life, which he thinks contradicts his father's theological belief. In fact, if these events were predicted by a female student 50 years ago, then determinism will come into play, which may prove the divinity of our universe. God does not just make things move; His hand is still on the shift lever.
If "Know" stops here, then this movie may be a dull thriller, only stained by Cage's dullness. He insists on biting his teeth occasionally and talks as if there is a can of syrup in his head. In fact, if he can predict the tragedy, maybe he can stop it in the right place. If so, then he will prove to be a more powerful force than the creator of the universe, making a series of numbers irrelevant, reaffirming the randomness of life, and revealing that knowing is just another meaningless exercise in Nick Cage's career.
Unfortunately, "knowledge" has deviated from the track and fallen into the ridiculous abyss, so deep that you can reach into Australia. There is one thing worse than a meaningless movie experience, which is completely ridiculous. This is the fate of knowing when the sci-fi devil raises his head. The evil spirit here is whisperd, a creature that seems to have crawled out of an advertisement for jeans in Dissel and spent several days injecting antiseptic solution. Only Caleb, John's son, and the granddaughter (Lara Robinson, two characters) of the raving schoolgirl can hear their whispers. What are they telling them? In essence, how they save themselves from the last series of figures is a doomsday prediction. How can they save themselves without violating Judaism and Christianity? Let's just say that Bunny is related to the forbidden tree. In fact, a less ridiculous ending of "knowing" may be that the whole world bought a coke and then jumped when the metaphorical elevator fell.
It's a film that is hard to match with director alex proyas's early work (Crow, City of Darkness). What's more gratifying is that this is due to the script, unless it was written by Proia, or due to the pressure of the studio, although I can't imagine that even the sober employees of Summit Entertainment would want this ending to appear in any film. But then again, they are also the people who fired the most successful vampire film director after entering the franchise for the first time. I can only guess that Proia invented an interesting premise, but I can't find anywhere else to realize it except a lesbian land in the Bible where golden wheat dances on the grass. The only thing that may be even more stupid is that when the last event unfolded, Nick Cage fell to his knees with Oedipus plot and stabbed him in the eye. At least then, he will be saved from the illusion that the rest of us have to endure.
