Shenzhen development trend changes

Shenzhen is an immigrant city. It took only 30 years to develop into China's first tier cities (the four first-tier cities recognized by most people at present: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen). Great progress has been made in economic scale, science and technology industry, software design, capital market service industry, tertiary industry and processing and manufacturing industry, which many people, including Shenzhen itself, Shenzhen government and Shenzhen people, did not expect, and it was unexpected to look around the world.

To say that Shenzhen's future development depends on the liberation of productive forces, science and technology are the primary productive forces, and to develop high technology and cross the river by feeling the stones, practice is the only criterion to test the truth. Take it one step at a time, catching mice is a good cat, talking about rejuvenating the country, and so on.

As for the future development direction of Shenzhen, the Shenzhen government and people should be pragmatic. First of all, we must solve the hot issues of people's livelihood in Shenzhen. The most urgent ones are medical care, health, education, science and technology, transportation, government services, democracy and fair construction. Shenzhen's comprehensive reform must be promoted. The most important reason why Shenzhen develops faster than most cities in China is that it is at the forefront of reform and takes the lead in reform, so it has achieved success. At present, Shenzhen should also take reform as the leading factor, promote the democratic government with separation of powers and the reform of government allocation, separate the functions and powers of decision-making, implementation and supervision, and directly elect the district head and mayor.

Assumption of Shenzhen's future:

1. It is predicted that Shenzhen will develop into a "Hong Kong-Shenzhen Metropolis" together with Hong Kong, and even merge into a metropolis after the integration of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. (But the Basic Law of Hong Kong stipulates that Hong Kong will remain unchanged for 50 years, and it will take 40 years at the earliest. This trend may be a direction of Shenzhen's future development.

Shenzhen, a municipality directly under the central government, has become a pawn arranged by the central government in South China. The reform of administrative divisions in China has always been a trend of demolition and reduction. When a province is too big to manage, the central government will consider strengthening central management by setting up municipalities directly under the central government, thus increasing centralization. Of course, this is not contradictory to the merger of Shenzhen and Hong Kong into a new central municipality, but it is impossible to merge Hong Kong and Shenzhen within 40 years, so it is not impossible for Shenzhen to take the lead in preparing for the merger of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

3. Pearl River Delta integration. Taking Guangzhou and Shenzhen as leading cities, we will realize the integration among the nine central cities in the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province. Through the integration of Guangzhou and Shenzhen, we will form a real central city in the Pearl River Delta, unify the area codes and various elements of Shenzhen and Guangzhou, form a Guangzhou-Shenzhen metropolitan area (the core area of the Pearl River Delta), become the center of the Pan-Pearl River Delta, and further radiate to the southwest (Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing), Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Hainan and other provinces. In order to ensure Guangdong's status as the big brother in China, the province aims to develop into a world-class metropolitan area. The short-term goal is to surpass South Korea. This is what Guangdong Province is doing at present, and it is also to be established in the planning outline of the Pearl River Delta. However, due to some factors, there are many uncertainties in this strategy. I won't go into details here.
