Sifang district was built in August of 195 1, and was named after the former Sifang village.
According to legend, from the 25th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1392), immigrants from Yunnan and other places migrated here one after another, and gradually formed villages such as Cuobling, Hongshanpo, Xujiacun, Wujiacun, Hudao, Xiaocun and Sifang Village, belonging to Jimo County, Laizhou Prefecture and Wenfeng Society, Renhua Township, Jimo County. 1897 After Germany invaded Qingdao, it successively occupied Jiaoao Concession for Germany and Japan. 1922, after the Beiyang warlord government recovered the sovereignty of Qingdao, it came under the jurisdiction of Qingdao.
1929 April 15, after Nanjing National Government took over Qingdao, Sicang District was established in September of the same year. 1935 in may, the Qingdao municipal government redrawn the urban areas and towns, and established sifang district and cangkou districts respectively. In September of the same year, sifang district and Cangkou District merged into Sicang District again. After the liberation of Qingdao in June, 1949, Fushan District was established. Haipo Village, Xiwujia Village, Dongwujia Village, Cuobuling Village and JOE Village in Sifang belong to the newly established Fushan District, and the rest belong to Sicang District. By July of 195 1, Qingdao Fushan Sub-committee and Qingdao Fushan District Government were stationed in the Sifang territory.
195 16 August, 200616, with the approval of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Central People's Government, sifang district was abolished and sifang district was formally established.
195 1 sifang district is established, and its boundaries are: the northeast section to the west of Dashan Village, the southeast section to the east of Wudongjia Village, the Haibo River to the south, the beach to the west, the island in the middle of the lake to the north and Dashuiqinggou to the south.
On July 3rd 1954, Fushan District was revoked, and Cuobuling of Sanhe Township in this district was transferred to sifang district. On May 27th, 1957, Hongshan slope in Houxiang, Fushan, Laoshan suburb was included in sifang district. 1961March, Qingdao adjusted some administrative divisions, and the area south of Licun River in Cangkou District (bounded by the north bank of the river) was included in sifang district; Yantan and Shuiqinggou in this area were merged into sifang district at the same time, and were placed in Laoshan County from 65438 to July 5, 0963, and Cangkou District from 65438 to 0970. At this time, the whole area is 22.4 square kilometers.

At the same time, seven natural villages such as Shuangshan Village, Dashan Village, Heya Village, Huaguang Village, Baoer Village, Hexi Village and Xiaoshuiqinggou, which are under the jurisdiction of Licun Town in Laoshan District, were placed under the jurisdiction of sifang district, and two sub-district offices were set up in Hexi and Shuang Shan respectively. After the zoning adjustment, the area of the whole region has increased to 34.55 square kilometers. Geological landform
Sifang district, located in the northeast margin of Jiaonan Uplift and the south-central part of Jiaolai Depression, is a secondary structural unit of Neocathaysian Uplift, mainly with faults. The Paleozoic strata in this area are missing as a whole, but the volcanic rocks of Cretaceous Qingshan Formation are well developed and widely exposed. Magmatic rocks are mainly composed of Proterozoic rose gneiss granite in Jiaonan period and Ai Shan granodiorite and Laoshan granite in late Mesozoic Yanshanian period. The terrain is undulating, high in the east and low in the west, gentle in the north and south, facing the sea in the west, and the coastline is 5.83 kilometers long. There are eight hills in the area, such as Tanding Mountain, Shuangshan Mountain, Gushan Mountain, Shuiqinggou Dongshan Mountain, Shuiqinggou Southeast Mountain, Jiading Mountain and Beiling Mountain, all of which show a north-south trend.
