NAATI (National Accreditation Agency for Translators and Interpreters) is an official institution in Australia that certifies translators and interpreters. NAATI was established in 1977, aiming at establishing a professional standard and development for translators and interpreters of different levels, and creating a nationwide system for registering and issuing professional certificates.

Naati provides applicants with the following three assessment methods, as long as they meet (pass) any one of them, that is, they have the assessment qualification: 1) passed the examination designated by Naati, or 2) completed the study courses of relevant Australian institutions or universities recognized or designated by Naati, or 3) completed the academic qualifications and certificates of relevant overseas institutions/universities recognized or designated by Naati.

1) The Nati Qualification Examination consists of two parts: interpretation (2529- 13) and translation (2529- 15). There are four different levels of examinations in these two parts, namely, quasi-professional interpreters, quasi-professional translators, interpreters and translators. The full score of this examination is 100, and the passing score is 70, of which the professional ethics standard is at least 5 points out of 10, the translation is at least 63 points out of 90 points, and each point is at least 29 points. 3) Complete the academic qualifications and certificates of overseas institutions/universities recognized or designated by Naati. At present, the evaluation of overseas academic qualifications/certificates provided by Naati mainly includes translation, advanced translation and conference interpretation, conference interpretation (advanced) and advanced translation (advanced). Applicants with academic qualifications/degrees in Chinese mainland can only apply for the first kind of translation, and it is in one language direction, that is, English-Chinese translation (translation). In recent years, with the beginning of the "immigration fever", NATTI's Australian qualification certificate has also begun to heat up among Chinese people. However, NATTI is not regarded as a shortcut to immigrate to Australia because of its authority in professional interpretation and translation. However, NATTI is still a great temptation for English majors: Australia clearly stipulates that all interpreters and translators in government departments must have NATTI certificates, and an additional language allowance is added to their salaries. NATTI certification body has issued a new policy.
