They all think that these are major events in life, such as having children, taking exams, working, career achievements, and honoring ancestors. This refers to ordinary people. Some big entrepreneurs, politicians, diplomats, and scientists believe that the earth's environment is polluted, which is a big deal; the earth may be destroyed in the future, and now we are developing space and engaging in immigration plans, which is a big deal; and now the development of artificial intelligence is a big deal.

However, all major things are not as important as life itself, such as the truth of life, the essence of life, and the perfection of life. Therefore, if the mystery of life and death is not solved, it will be like a dream no matter what you do. In a dream, even if you make a fortune or lose money, it will be meaningless when you wake up.

So "life and death are important matters", this is a special proposition of Buddhism, and it is also a life proposition proposed for all sentient beings, that is, no matter what big event, everything is always in the cycle of life and death. This is the foundation. Any prosperity, any happiness in the world, always develops based on this.

If this foundation is not solid, Buddhism says that "life is suffering and all actions are impermanent", it is like a building built on the beach; building a building is very important, but if the foundation is not laid well, it will fall down or collapse. Already? No matter what, this world is not reliable.

If the essence of life, the fundamental meaning of life, and the unshakable truth are grasped, then of course this is the most fundamental matter.

The "important matter of life and death" refers to the great distressing matter of solving the endless cycle of life and death. This is the fundamental purpose of reincarnation as a human being.

Because in the human realm, it is possible for you to solve this problem. People are smarter and can listen to the Dharma, which is bittersweet. If you enjoy too much, you will be carefree, just like the gods who are too carefree, they will not practice Buddhism, very little. If you are too distressed, you will have no energy and no thoughts. For example, if you are a pig or other animal, you will be very stupid; if you are a hungry ghost, you will look for food all day long and suffer every second in hell. How can you have time to practice?

Therefore, it is difficult to practice in the three evil realms and the heavenly realm. Humanity has its advantages and strengths. Memory, willpower, and creativity are all very strong. In addition, there is a mixture of bitterness and joy. Therefore, in the human world, the human body is the most important treasure for cultivating Taoism.

If in this life, one can break through the shackles of the cycle of life and death, like Guanshiyin Bodhisattva, becoming enlightened and at ease, wouldn’t this major life event be accomplished?

So how to solve this big problem?

It is almost impossible to solve it by ourselves in this life and still have to eat, drink and have diarrhea in this world.

Fortunately, there is a Pure Land method. Concentrating on reciting Namo Amitabha does not affect the so-called major things in this world. You can still do it. As long as you sincerely wish to be reborn in the Pure Land, you can do whatever you want, morning and evening. With this name of the Buddha, you will be protected by the light of Amitabha in your current life, and you will be greeted by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas holding lotus flowers on your deathbed. Once you reach the Pure Land, you will forever transcend the reincarnation of the three realms and realize the supreme Nirvana.

Buddhism not only points out that life is suffering and life and death are serious matters, but also has methods. There are 84,000 methods, but among them, the simplest and most extraordinary is the method of reciting the name of the Buddha.

This method can not only solve our own life and death matters, but also our parents, husband and wife, father and son, brothers, and friends who are destined to us. As long as we tell them such a simple and easy method, everyone can solve their life and death matters. , what a great method.

The ultimate happiness in life and the ultimate truth of the universe are found in these six words "Namo Amitabha".
