Where is Ceylon?

Ceylon, the old name of Sri Lanka, is located in the Indian Ocean south of the South Asian subcontinent.

Northwest Ceylon faces India across the Pakistan Strait. Close to the equator, the four seasons are like summer, affected by the Indian Ocean monsoon, and the southwest coast is humid. 2,500 years ago, Aryans from northern India immigrated to Ceylon to establish the Sinhalese dynasty. In 247 BC, King Ashoka of the peacock dynasty in India sent his son to the island to promote Buddhism, which was welcomed by the local king. Ceylon pursues an independent and non-aligned foreign policy, supports the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, opposes all forms of imperialism, colonialism, racism and hegemonism of great powers, safeguards Sri Lanka's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and does not allow foreign interference in Sri Lanka's internal and external affairs.
