Do I need a visa to go to Japan with a Hong Kong passport?

No need. Hong Kong passport holders can stay in Japan for up to 90 days.

As of July 2007, Japan has implemented visa-free policies for 68 countries and regions including Hong Kong. Details are as follows:

? (Note) Indonesian nationality (from 20 14, 12, 1), without a visa, only those registered ICAO standard electronic passports are issued to Japanese diplomatic missions in Indonesia (embassies, consulates general or consulates,). Registration is valid for three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.

? ([Note]) As a Malaysian (from July, 1965 13 to April, 2065, 438+0), the visa is not only required for e-passport holders to meet ICAO standards. Those who do not hold such e-passports should obtain visas in advance, otherwise they will be strictly examined and may be refused entry into Japan.

? (Note) Thai nationality (from 20 13, 1 onwards), the visa not only meets the requirements of ICAO Electronic Passport Holder (ICAO) standard.

? (Note 4) For visas for Hong Kong citizens, it is not only the holders of the Special Administrative Region who need to issue passports (BNO) by overseas citizens of People's Republic of China (PRC), Hong Kong, China or the United Kingdom who have the right of abode in Hong Kong.

? (Note 5) The Macao citizen visa is not only a passport of the SAR, but also required by the issuers of People's Republic of China (PRC) and Macao SAR.

? ([Note 6]) To obtain a visa, citizens of Taiwan Province Province need not only the passport of Taiwan Province Province, but also the holder's personal ID number.
