Wei Yong Village was built in the Song Dynasty and belonged to Jiuru Township, Shawan District, Panyu County during the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. After liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of Tongfeng Township (Zhongcun Town). Wei surname is the earliest settlement. Because it played a role in the development of the village and was an ancestor, the village was named "Wei Yong". Later, the descendants of Webster gradually declined, while the surnames Fang, Lei and Su who moved here (Nanxiong Zhuji Lane) flourished. Wei Yong Village is located in the northwest of Zhongcun Town, adjacent to the chencun waterway of the Pearl River and facing Lezhu in Shunde. In 2007, Wei Yong Village established "Guangzhou Healthy Village", and in 2008, Wei Yong became "Guangdong Healthy Village".
Wei Yong Village is adjacent to Dazhou Village, Duna Village, Pingshan No.2 Village, Pingshan No.1 Village, Shibi No.4 Village, Shibi No.3 Village, Shibi No.2 Village, Shibi No.1 Village and Guangzhou South Railway Station.
