Forgotten Huoziling Ancient Road

Wulinsuo

At the junction of forest and crane, the mountains of Taihang Mountain crisscross, showing east-west Baiyun Mountain, which forks in the south of Fencaoyu Village and turns sharply to the north. It rises and falls in the eastern part of the Xiaoping Plain in Dongyao, looking up from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. The peaks stand upright and soar into the sky, leaving a "U"-shaped gap and becoming the symbolic highland of Dongyao.

Climb Huoziling, overlooking Lingdong, with continuous mountains and verdant peaks; Looking at Lingxi from afar, fertile fields are thousands of miles away and fields are like brocade. Among the Schizonepeta bushes at the foot of the mountain, an ancient road paved with bluestone can be vaguely distinguished. It twists and turns, crosses the gully ridge, crosses the hillock ridge and climbs the Huoziling, where the sky meets the sky. One end is connected with Linzhou, the hinterland of Taihang, and the other end leads to the south of Hebi and directly to Daishan, Xun County. This is the Huoziling Ancient Road.

As time goes by, the ancient road is long and how old it is. It is recorded that Huoziling built the inscription of the Mountain God Land Temple. The temple was built in the second year of Yuan Dynasty (AD 1322), and it is an indisputable fact that the road was first in the temple. At least in the Yuan Dynasty, there were ancient roads.

It is puzzling that the Mountain God Land Temple built next to the Huoziling Ancient Road was built in the Yuan Dynasty, but most of the surrounding villages have historical records of immigrants in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. If the villages along the Huoziling ancient road were inhabited before the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the remains of their ancestors disappeared. Does the legendary story of Hu Dahai's bloody slaughter of Zhang Defu really exist? What is even more curious is that the original site of the Mountain God Land Temple next to the Huoziling Ancient Road happened to be built on the dividing line between Nangou Village, Donggou Village, Chencanggou Village and Fencaoyu Village. A temple is divided into four villages. Who chose the site to build the temple and demarcate the village? What is more valuable as a cultural relic is that the mountain gods and the land stone statues in the temple are all carved on the same big bluestone, sitting side by side, lifelike, (the original stone statue was stolen), craftsman art, and visiting many temple stone carvings, which is unique.

Time flies, the ancient Huoziling Road is lost in weeds and gradually forgotten. The paving stones that passers-by and porters can polish are still shining in the sun, telling the past:

The past is unbearable, and blood and tears are dripping in the cracks of the ancient road. Hundreds of years of wind and rain, how many people left their homes because of the barren fields and poor land in the mountains, wandering on the Huoziling with their wives and children, looking back at the distant homeland and reluctantly walking on the ancient road; How many people leave early and return late, flying around Daiyue, carrying, pushing and carrying donkeys, bringing mountain freight out of the mountain and bringing back the daily necessities outside the mountain, exhausted physically and mentally, stumbling at the foot of the mountain and sighing; How many students are thirsty for knowledge, trudging for dozens of miles to study in the town every day, crossing mountains and mountains, reciting the poem "It's hard to get through the Shu Road, and it's hard to get to the sky", and rushing on this ancient road.

The unique geographical environment is rich in humanistic genes. Huoziling Ancient Road is a shortcut from Dongyao to Hebi. Only 50 miles away, you can enjoy the infinite scenery of plains, hills and mountains, and you can also feel the topographic and geomorphological features that gradually decline from west to east. In the era when Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism prevailed, influenced by the cultures of the three religions, there were many temples along the ancient road. Xingguo temple (Dongyao Village), yuquan temple (Baixiangjing Village), Baiyun Temple (Honghe Village), Moushan Temple (Hebi Wushan Temple, Baiyun Mountain Taoist Temple, Three Churches (Fencaoyu), Honghe Temple Group, etc. The spread of temple culture and the mutual penetration of the integration of the three religions have deeply influenced generation after generation. In particular, the Taoist temples in xingguo temple, Moushan Temple and Baiyun Mountain are large in scale, and there are many monks, nuns and hermits, which makes the ideological system of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism radiate around along the ancient road of Huoziling. There is a clear record in "Re-inscription of Hengqiao in Fencaoyu Village": "Suddenly, a monk rode across the bridge with a book to deliver documents ..." It can be seen that it is not a myth that monks frequently move on the Huoziling ancient road. Traditional culture took root and blossomed on the ancient road, which ushered in the great prosperity of the ancient road culture.

With the prosperity of ancient road culture, a group of talented young people came into being. Zhao Yin and Zhao Yibin of Honghe Village were appointed as Confucian scholars and Dr Yahua respectively in the late Ming Dynasty. Nan 'gou Village was the original scholar of Qing Dynasty, and he was the mentor of Emperor Qianlong. Zhao of Donggou village in Daqing is a rich boy. Zhao Jiucheng, a native of Donggou Village in the Republic of China, was born in Peking University. He once participated in the "December 29" student movement, and was later wrongly designated as a rightist who returned to China to build a house and practiced self-cultivation by the ancient road.

The prosperity of ancient road culture gave birth to the flower of friendship between the East and cranes. Xingguo temple, Baiyun Mountain Taoist Temple, Daishan Mountain and Moushan Temple exchanged and learned from each other, which promoted the circulation of goods, the conclusion of marriage and the improvement of productivity in the two places. Mountain products in mountainous areas continuously enriches Hebi market, Hebi coal flows to mountainous areas, providing energy for mountain villages, and the rise of coal mining industry provides employment opportunities for mountain people. Today, people in He Lin still maintain the tradition of getting along well with their neighbors, maintaining close ties and being like a family.

Wu Wenchang of Fangcaoyu Village, nicknamed Wu Laotang, was born in the Republic of China. He devoted his life to the merchants of Lin Hehe, and spent many years on the Huoziling ancient road, which was well received by the people of both places. With humorous language and honest reputation, he built a bridge of friendship between Lin and He with ancient roads as the link. At that time, people mentioned Wu Laotang, and as we all know, it became a famous business card on the ancient road.

The past is the past, and it is still a romantic figure to look at the present. Today's Huoziling is full of green grass and towering pines and cypresses. In the past, barren hills and barren hills have become punch-in attractions among network celebrities. Looking at the foot of the mountain, the willows are green and the grass is long and the warblers are flying, which is a scene of spring. The wide and flat Shanghai-Taiwan highway winds around the foothills like a ribbon, knocking on the door to the wonderful world outside. Villagers along the ancient road joined the ranks of 100,000 troops fighting the Taihang Mountains, walked out of the Taihang Mountains and became rich in the Taihang Mountains. Beautiful countryside's construction and cleaning activities are in full swing, and Huoziling has ushered in colorful spring.
