Can Mars really migrate? How can we build a new home?
There are so many stars in the solar system, why do we only have a soft spot for Mars?
First of all, the geological environment of Mars is stable, there is almost no plate movement, and geological activities have basically stopped. Second, compared with other planets, Mars is most like the Earth, with four seasons. Mars is half the diameter of the earth, and its rotation period is similar to that of the earth. Thirdly, according to the observation data, there are traces of groundwater gushing on the surface of Mars, and there are a lot of water ice under the surface of Mars at the poles and mid-latitudes, which is completely enough for human survival.
Since we will choose Mars as the first choice for space immigrants in the future, what is the current environment of Mars?
At present, Mars is an empty, dead and barren state. The surface of Mars is orange because it is covered with iron oxide. The atmospheric composition on Mars is mainly carbon dioxide, followed by a very small amount of carbon monoxide and water vapor. The surface temperature of Mars is about 30 degrees Celsius lower than that of the Earth, and the temperature difference between day and night can reach 100 degrees Celsius.
Since the surface environment of Mars is so bad, can we build a city on Mars? Don't worry, look down slowly.
In view of the limitation of human's own ability and scientific and technological level, it is almost impossible to change the overall environment of Mars. The only way is to build a closed living base on Mars. In a completely closed environment, control the same living conditions as the earth, such as air pressure and temperature, so that it will not be affected by the harsh environment outside Mars.
In the subsequent urban construction, we need to pay attention to the following requirements.
First, it is best to choose the North Pole and the Great Plains at low latitudes as the base for human habitation, where the sunshine is abundant, the underground ice water content is high, the daytime temperature can reach about 20 degrees, and the surface of Mars is rich in mineral resources, which fully meets human industrial activities.
Second, energy can be achieved by installing a large number of solar panel arrays on the surface of Mars. Of course, humans can also carry large isotope fission motors as energy supplements. Curiosity rover used this technology.
Third, the Martian soil is rich in perchlorate. This substance can react to generate oxygen under heating conditions, and maintain a low-pressure oxygen-enriched environment in a closed environment, so that human beings can survive healthily.
Fourthly, modern animal and plant breeding areas can be built through modern science and technology for the food needed for human survival. For example, the current soilless culture technology makes use of the rich carbon dioxide content on Mars, and the gravity of Mars is less than half that of the earth, so plants can grow bigger and produce a lot of oxygen for human beings. The waste straw produced by plants can be used to process feed and feed poultry and livestock. So don't worry about eating at all.
Since Mars can create an environment that meets the basic survival of human beings, it is only a matter of time before we move to Mars. Moreover, Mars is indeed the only planet close to the earth now, so no planet can carry many human thoughts and longings like Mars.
At present, countries also attach great importance to the detection and observation of Mars. Especially on July 23rd, 2020, China successfully launched the first Mars exploration mission "Tianwen-1". On March 4th, 2002/kloc-0, the National Space Administration released three high-definition images of Mars taken by Tianwen-1. On May 22nd, 2002/kloc-0, the first rover "Zhu Rong" arrived safely on the surface of Mars and began its patrol exploration. Our journey will always be a sea of stars. May our deep space exploration continue.
At the end of this issue, I am a firefly who insists on doing high-quality popular science. I am willing to chase the bright moon of science with the light of fireflies. See you next time.
