"Little Huizhou" refers to the geographical scope of six counties in Huizhou, namely Yi, Xiuning, Wuyuan, Qimen and Jixi. Huizhou culture was formed in Huizhou, and the research scope is limited to this. We call Huizhou Studies "Little Huizhou".

However, Huizhou is an immigrant society. The migration of Han nationality in the Central Plains and Huizhou people's overseas business, study tour and official career have brought Huizhou culture to all parts of the country. In particular, Jiangnan, where Huizhou merchants and Huizhou literati are concentrated, is deeply influenced by Huizhou culture, and there is even a saying that "Yangzhou is a colony of Huizhou merchants". The achievements of some Huizhou celebrities are also in other places. Therefore, the study of Huizhou culture will inevitably involve areas other than Huizhou culture, that is, the concept of "Greater Huizhou".
