Documents required for ordinary visa for parents to visit relatives
1. Submitted by parents together
1. Form IMM5257. Parents must complete the "Temporary Resident Visit Visa Application Form (IMM5257)" separately. Download the form to your computer and use Adobe Reader to fill it in (strictly refer to the Sample form provided on the visa center website). You can save and modify it before generating the barcode (but you can also change some of it after generating the barcode. items, such as residence, just reprint this page); after final confirmation, select Validate, then select the English version, and then select single or multiple visits to relatives. The selected number is Multiple, that is, Multiple. After selecting Validate, it will automatically check whether the filled items are qualified. The first time I filled in my daughter's address in Canada, which was her residence, it was found to be unqualified. Even after repeated revisions, it didn't work. Finally, I filled in the address of her work unit, including the name of her work unit, and it passed the test. However, after my daughter checked it out, she said it didn't work. You must fill in your address, use the copy and paste function, that's it.
2. IMM5645 table. Parents fill in the "Family Information Form (IMM5645)" separately, fill in their names in Chinese and English, fill it out on the computer, and cannot save it. Print it after filling it out.
3. Education and Employment details form. Parents should fill it out separately, in both Chinese and English. After downloading the form from the Internet, it cannot be filled in on the computer. Some netizens said that you can use the Foxit PDF Editor software to fill it in. Although it is a bit more troublesome, it ensures that all forms are filled in by computer, which is convenient for the visa officer to read, and the handwritten words cannot be filled in. No matter how good it is, it can't be as beautiful and clear as what is printed on a computer. But after I downloaded and installed it, it didn't work, and I ended up filling it in by hand.
4. Photos, Two identical photos of applicant. Parents each submit two identical color or black-and-white photos taken within the last six months, with a pure white or light-colored background. The required photo frame size is 35mm x 45mm. But the photo on the Chinese passport can be used. Please indicate your name and date of birth (day/month/year) in pinyin behind each photo. If you don’t have a photo, you can take it at the visa center.
5. Passport. Passport. Parents’ valid passports. Each passport must contain at least one full blank page except the last page, and the passport must be valid for at least six months before the trip. The first and last pages of the new passport must be copied.
6. Certificate of leave from the unit. If you are employed, you must use the original letter of leave approval printed on the unit's letterhead and signed by the person in charge of the unit's Human Resources Department, including the following information: father's (mother's) name, position, current income and date of employment, medical benefits, Planned departure and return time, etc.; as well as the full name and address of the unit, telephone and fax numbers in Chinese.

Invitation letter
Dear Mom and Dad: How are you doing these days? Finally we are all set at our new home. It's in a very nice area, quiet and has more space. Celina likes her new school. She's already made friends there. We are excited about having our own place, after all this is a big event in our lives, and we'd like you to share the happiness with us, so we decided to invite you to come visit us this fall. In the meantime, you can take a look of Canada. The city we live in now is Mississauga which is about one hour and half away from Niagara Fall which is a famous place in the world. You will be impressed by the stunning view there. Other than the beautiful scenery, you will also enjoy the delicious food here, especially for dad. I know, as a chef for decades, dad has always been interested in testing different gourmet, so this will be a good chance for him. I know, to compare with the warm and humid weather in Shanghai, you must not feel comfortable with the cold and dry winter here, so you can back to Shanghai around the end of November before the real winter comes. Does this sound a good plan to you? I prepared the documents you will need on my side for applying the visa and mailed to you. We are looking forward to your visit. Good luck! Love, XXX Jun 27,2011
Invitation letter to parents. Chinese. The invitation must be printed and signed by the daughter.
2. Multiple immigration status documents. Copies of the daughter’s immigration status documents (copies of both sides of the permanent resident card, SIN card, health card and driver’s license), and a scan of the first page of the passport (with photo and name).
3. Income property documents. Proof of daughter’s income and financial status. (1), tax bill (NOA) issued by the Canada Revenue Agency, pre-tax income of 39,000; (2), bank deposit certificate; (3) employment certification letter from the unit (employment start date, position, pre-tax income, Annual leave entitlement, company name, address, phone number); (4), tax payment stub; (5), six months' bank statements; (6), six months' salary slips; (7), car purchase order and insurance one. (8), house purchase contract, loan contract.
The NOA is the most important. See the auditor dig it out and rank it at the top of all documents.
4. Information about the people living together. The names, genders, ages and other information of the landlord and tenants of my daughter’s rental house are all in the scanned copy of the rental agreement.
5. The daughter should indicate her parents’ names and dates of birth at the top or in the blank space on all materials. There are dozens of pages, and my hands are shaking as I sign in, hahaha.
6. Checklist for auditors and visa officials to use.
7. Send to parents. All the documents prepared by the daughter were sent back to China and submitted together with the parents' documents.
There is no need to fax scanned documents in Canada to the Canadian Embassy in China.
Pin all documents separately with paper clips so they don’t get messed up. There is no need to order them together, because the visa center auditors will sort them themselves when checking the materials. There is no need to use transparent folders to separate different documents, auditors use their own dedicated document bags to enclose them.
Except for my daughter’s invitation letter, all other documents were returned in the end.
