Who is the designer and sculptor of the Statue of Liberty?

The Statue of Liberty, a bronze statue, has a base height of 47 meters, a statue height of 46 meters, a total height of 93 meters and a weight of 229 tons. It was designed by the French sculptor Auguste Bateau (1834-194) and was completed in 1886. It is located on Liberty Island next to the Golden Gate in new york Port, USA.

The Statue of Liberty originated from French politics. In 1865, after Charles Louis Napolé on Bonaparte ascended the throne, a group of French bourgeois scholars hoped to end the monarchy and establish a new French Republic. Therefore, out of admiration for the other side of the Atlantic, and in order to enhance the mutual affection between the French people and the American people, they raised funds and entrusted the famous sculptor Bateau Di to design this statue as a gift to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the United States.

Bateau Di, a contemporary of the sculptor Rodin, followed the classical academic creation rules very strictly in his creation, and was good at creating huge sculptures. He devoted great enthusiasm to the design of the Statue of Liberty. This work is deeply influenced by Delacroix's famous painting Freedom Leads the People, and the face of the goddess reflects the grim face and expression of the author's mother. The waist of the Statue of Goddess is 1.6 meters wide, the mouth is 91 centimeters wide, the right arm holding the torch high is 12.8 meters long, and only one index finger is 2.4 meters long. The Statue of Liberty wears a lofty laurel on her head, a long Greek-style mopping dress, broken iron chains symbolizing the overthrow of tyranny on her feet, a tablet symbolizing the American Declaration of Independence in her left hand, the American Independence Day "July 4, 1786" inscribed on it, and the torch of light and hope held high in her right hand. The seven rays on her crown symbolize freedom spread across seven continents, and her solemn expression contains extensive human love. The spiral staircase inside the Statue of Liberty enables visitors to climb its head, which is equivalent to climbing a 12-storey building (because it is too high, an elevator was installed from the base to facilitate visitors to get on and off). In the design process, considering the convenience of ocean transportation, gustave eiffel (1832-1923), a famous French engineer and architect and designer of the Eiffel Tower, a collaborator of Bateau Di, made a delicate iron frame supported by a central support, and attached the outer layer of the statue with a thickness of only 2.4 mm to the frame by the method of breaking it into parts and casting it in blocks.

The Statue of Liberty was built in France, and was officially given to the American ambassador as a gift from the French people on July 4th, 1886, the centenary of the United States.
