Under the new situation of developing the socialist market economy, in the face of the new trend of diversification of economic components and economic interests, social lifestyles, social organizations, and employment methods in real life, how to adhere to the mass line, do a good job in mass work, and consolidate the foundation for governance , is a major issue before us. Combining the actual situation of Xunhua and my own grassroots work practice, I will briefly talk about my experience and understanding of doing a good job in mass work.

1. Unify our thinking, strengthen our confidence, and increase our sense of urgency and responsibility in doing mass work

Currently, Xunhua County is in an important period of rapid development and is facing many good situations. While developing opportunities, we are also faced with many contradictory issues such as landless farmers, immigrants from reservoir areas, and social security arising from the acceleration of urbanization and the construction of key projects. We must build a harmonious society that is fair, just, honest, friendly, stable, and orderly. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done, and mass work is one of the important tasks that is indispensable, irreplaceable, and cannot be ignored. Mass work is an important channel to reflect the wishes and voices of the people, and an important way to resolve the interests, contradictions and problems involving the people. By doing a good job in mass work, on the one hand, we can guide the masses to express their interest demands and resolve conflicts of interests in a rational and legal way, actively channelize the emotions of the masses, effectively resolve social conflicts, and thus better safeguard the fundamental interests of the broad masses of the people. , to better promote the construction of a harmonious society. On the other hand, it can unblock the democratic channels for the masses to put forward opinions and suggestions, gather the masses' creative opinions and suggestions, let the masses' wisdom enter the decision-making process, promote the scientific and democratic decision-making, enhance the vitality of decision-making, and achieve a good and healthy economy and society. Develop quickly.

Looking back on the past "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", it was a very unusual and extraordinary five years in the development history of Xunhua. It was a five-year period in which we faced major challenges, withstood major tests, and achieved major achievements. Throughout the process of construction and development, mass work provided an important guarantee and played a positive role. But we must also be soberly aware that the current mass work is facing many new situations and new problems, and we still have many incompetencies in terms of ideological understanding, methods, abilities, systems and mechanisms. From the perspective of economic development, the quality and efficiency of development are far from high enough, and financial resources are not strong enough. As a result, the level of public services is still relatively low, the standards of some social security are not high enough, the coverage is not wide enough, and the income of the people is not increasing fast enough. . From the perspective of social undertakings, it obviously lags behind economic development, especially in terms of spiritual civilization construction such as cultural, sports and entertainment for the masses. Insufficient investment and insufficient intensity in social management innovation work, lack of personnel, lack of funds, lack of positions, lack of facilities, lack of Skills issues are ubiquitous and largely affect the functioning of grassroots organizations. From the perspective of work style, some party members and cadres have a weak concept of the masses, a weak sense of purpose, a lack of affection for the masses, usually do not contact the masses, do not rely on the masses in their work, and are not close to the masses in their thinking. Some party members and cadres do not have a firm position with the masses, do not respect the wishes of the masses when making decisions and handle affairs, are undemocratic in their style, and do things unfairly, and there are some problems that infringe on the interests of the masses. Some party members and cadres have simple work methods and poor ability to work with the masses. They are unwilling to enter the masses and cannot speak the language of the masses. Some basic work at the grassroots level is weak and lacks the ability to educate, guide, mobilize and organize the masses, etc. The greatest advantage of our party lies in connecting with the masses, and the greatest danger lies in breaking away from the masses. Strengthening mass work is a very urgent task before us. At present, we have clarified the development goals and tasks of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan". To successfully realize the grand blueprint of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", it is particularly urgent and important to strengthen and improve mass work.
