1. Chinese citizens holding any type of passport to go to the United States must apply for a visa in advance. Visas to the United States are divided into immigrant visas and non-immigrant visas.
(1) Non-immigrant visa is applicable to tourists, business people, students or professional workers who need to stay in the United States for a certain period of time for specific purposes. Common non-immigrant visas include: business/travel visa, work visa, student visa, exchange visitor visa, transit/crew and crew visa, religious worker visa, domestic employee visa, journalist and media visa, etc.
(2) People who intend to immigrate to the United States can apply for an immigrant visa only after their immigration application is approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). All immigrant visas issued in mainland China should be applied for through the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou. The U.S. Embassy and other consulates general do not accept immigrant visas.
2. To apply for a U.S. visa, you need to go to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in China for an interview and have your fingerprints taken. Applicants who meet the following conditions can apply for the interview-free delivery service through CITIC Bank.
(1) Applicants who are under 14 years old and over 80 years old (inclusive) and have no history of US visa rejection.
