If the applicant meets one of the following qualifications, the naturalization time can be shortened to five years:

1. Noblely hold a government post in the Philippines or work in any province, city, autonomous region or political partition.

2. Establish a new industry or introduce a set of useful inventions in the Philippines;

3. Marry a Filipino citizen;

4. Be a teacher in the Philippines for at least two years;

5. Born in the Philippines.
