Indian friend: Why can't China people see the advantages of their country?

My classmates and friends in China often discuss a topic: immigration. The destination of immigrants is usually the United States, Canada, Western Europe and Australia, because these countries have good air, good welfare, good children's growth and social security when they are old. These ideas are all right. However, what I want to say is that many advantages of China may be overlooked by China people living in it under the background of the quietly changing world structure. First of all, China is safe. In Shanghai, girls can walk safely in the street at night, and taxis are also very standardized, which is unmatched by many developed cities in the west. In Britain, every Christmas and New Year and other important festivals, there will be news in the newspaper the next day to announce the number of violent incidents such as alcoholism and fighting. I experienced the Spring Festival in crowded Shanghai. What I feel is lively folk activities, always full restaurants and always busy ATM machines, but the night is calm and there is no violence. Secondly, China is a country willing to change with the change of the world. This pragmatic attitude is especially valuable for an ancient cultural country with such a huge area and a civilization of 5,000 years. But in China, I felt a completely different state and mood. At the party, young girls come to chat with me from time to time in imperfect but fluent English. They never miss any small opportunity to practice English. At the party, on TV and on the phone, people are discussing the trend of stocks, the ranking of MBA and the next entrepreneurial opportunity. Whether you are American, Middle Eastern or Japanese, China people can be their good business partners without too many racial and religious barriers. You may say that this is an expression of opportunism, but this state of mind full of expectation and optimism for the future and willing to work hard for it is very worth cherishing, and it is also one of the driving forces for the development of China. From the Indian point of view, China has another great advantage: determination to change, unity and speed of action. A friend who works in an Indian company in Shanghai once joked: If you have any complaints about the traffic in Shanghai, go to India and have a look. Shanghai will open more than ten subway lines before Expo 20 10, which is almost impossible in India. China is not a perfect country yet, but it is already a country that quickly walks on the peak of parabola. China people's optimism, open mind and cautious attitude in the process of mountain climbing are all envied by us, especially by China people. More importantly, we should understand advanced civilization, but there is no need to idolize those who run in front. Probably, China is next, and China is looking for its own way.
