German Customs has obviously strengthened the inspection of contraband and limited release of tobacco, alcohol and other articles carried by China passengers, and imposed severe penalties. Recently, several German tourists were investigated and dealt with by German customs when they entered the country because they carried more than one cigarette, which caused great economic losses and affected normal tourism and business activities.
In order to avoid unnecessary economic losses for our citizens, the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the German Embassy and Consulate in Germany reminded the personnel and delegations in Germany to abide by the relevant entry regulations of the European Union and Germany.

Matters needing attention in studying in Germany:
The German government attaches great importance to aviation safety. International students are not allowed to carry any weapons, including knives, guns or other sharp weapons on the plane. If foreign students carry these items for some reason, they should also check them in large luggage before boarding, otherwise they may be detained by German customs.
German Customs stipulates that passengers from non-EU countries can only carry personal daily necessities with a value of no more than 58.8 euros when entering the country, otherwise they will be taxed. However, this rule is difficult to implement, because German customs can't determine the value of each item, and at this point, international students can flexibly master the contents of their luggage.
The German government also has different tax exemption regulations for special products such as cigarettes and alcohol:
1. The number of cigarettes that German inbound passengers can carry is 200 cigarettes or 100 cigars, 250 grams of tobacco or 50 cigars.
2. The weight of alcoholic products that German inbound passengers can carry is 1 liter of wine with a temperature of 22 degrees or above, 2 liters of wine with toast and 2 liters of ordinary wine.
3. The weight of coffee and tea products that German inbound passengers can carry is 500g coffee powder or 200g espresso, 100g tea or 40g espresso.
4. Other products that German inbound passengers can carry weigh 50 grams of perfume or 0.25 liters of toilet water.
