Overview of visa
If you are a parent or grandparent of a New Zealand resident or citizen, you can ask them to sponsor this visa for you. This is a three-year multiple-entry tourist visa, which allows visa holders to travel to and from New Zealand multiple times within three years, with each stay not exceeding six months and the total stay within three years not exceeding 18 months.
Application conditions
√ If the children or grandchildren of the visa applicant are New Zealand residents or citizens aged 18, there is no restriction;
√ The visa applicant is in good health and has no criminal record.
√ The applicant was not in New Zealand when the visa was submitted.
Matters needing attention
√ Only one group of family members (one or both parents, or one or both grandparents) can apply for the visa at a time;
√ During the applicant's residence in New Zealand, the guarantor must also live in New Zealand;
√ The renewal of this visa must be three years after the first entry;
√ Visa holders cannot work;
√ All expenses (including medical expenses) of the visa holder shall be borne by the guarantor.
