How did the Hui nationality come into being?
During the Tang and Song Dynasties, China was called the Hui nationality. However, as an independent nation, the Hui nationality only started in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties.
After Genghis Khan's Western Expedition, a large number of Central Asians, Persians and Arabs immigrated to China. These people all believe in Islam, and there are a large number of them all over the country, and they have formed certain social forces in agriculture, industry, commerce, learning, military and other departments. They have a foothold and bottom-up conditions not only economically, politically, but also academically, which is the premise of the formation of national identity. Although their social status, professional status and achievements are different, they have one thing in common: Islamists.
It is these sincere Muslims who are the main body, carry on the family line, and their descendants have multiplied and developed, forming our Hui people today.
