Why should the US Congress apologize for the Chinese Exclusion Act?

The American Chinese Exclusion Act is a contempt and insult to the human rights of China people, and it is unfair and unjust. Facing the increasingly powerful China, the United States has to apologize for the Chinese Exclusion Act.

The American Chinese Exclusion Act was promulgated in19th century. Because there were frequent riots and workers' strikes in the United States at that time, and the society wanted to continue to develop, the white jobs on strike were replaced by Chinese at that time. Compared with demanding whites, Chinese who are hard-working and used to hard work are more popular with capitalists. At that time, Chinese did not dare to participate in politics, nor did they ask for too high a salary. They just want to solve their own food and clothing problems, so they have been working hard. White workers who work together feel that all their jobs have been taken away by Chinese, so they ask the government to enact a Chinese exclusion bill to restrict Chinese immigration and employment in the United States.

At that time, China people who were basically illiterate made Americans very unhappy, and the act of sending their savings back to China made Americans feel that China people were disloyal to the United States. So President Chester Arthur signed the Chinese Exclusion Act, 1882, on May 6th, prohibiting Chinese from coming to the United States to make a living, obtaining American citizenship and marrying whites. After the outbreak of the Pacific War, Song Meiling's speech in the US Congress caused great repercussions in the United States. At the subsequent Cairo Conference, President Roosevelt announced the abolition of the Chinese exclusion plan.

The Chinese Exclusion Act was enacted because of the desire of white Americans to pursue higher wages and better working environment. However, after the publication of the Chinese Exclusion Act, although there were no Chinese, many smuggling groups still found other workers from other places. Their wish didn't come true.

The Chinese Exclusion Act is a kind of discrimination and contempt for Chinese in China. It is also because the China government is too weak to protect the legitimate rights and interests of China people. This will never happen in China today.
