Weinan has jurisdiction over two municipal districts (Linwei District and Huazhou District) and seven counties (Tongguan County, Dali County, Chengcheng County, Heyang County, pucheng county County, Fuping County and Baishui County), as well as two county-level cities (hancheng city and huayin city)? And the administrative agencies with county-level management authority and functions dispatched directly by the four municipal committees and municipal governments (national Weinan High-tech Zone, provincial Weinan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Luyanghu Modern Industry Comprehensive Development Zone and Huashan Scenic Area), covering an area of 13 134 square kilometers.

The last administrative division adjustment in Weinan was in 20 15, when Huazhou District was established in Chunhua County.

The State Council approved the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government's "Request for Instructions on the Adjustment of Some Administrative Divisions in Weinan City", and agreed to cancel the hua county and establish Huazhou District in Weinan City. The former administrative area of hua county was Huazhou District.

Hua county is located in the east of Qinling Mountains, south of Guanzhong Plain and south bank of Weihe River. It is named because it is located at the foot of Huashan Mountain, 30 kilometers away from Huashan Mountain, a national scenic spot. Huayin city is in the east, 25 kilometers away from Linwei District, the resident of Weinan Municipal Government in the west, bordering Luonan County and Lantian County in the south, and facing Weihe River and Dali County in the north. The terrain is high in the south and low in the north, and the land constitutes a semi-mountainous county with "six mountains, one water and three fields".
