Huainan is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, which is called "Huai" for short and "Zhoulai" in ancient times. It is located in the north-central part of Anhui Province, in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta and on the bank of the Huaihe River. Known as "Zhongzhou throat, Jiangnan barrier" and "colorful Huainan". It is an important node of urban agglomeration along Huaihe River and the core city of Hefei metropolitan area.
Extended data:
The Huaihe River generally flows from west to east, passing through southern Henan Province, northern Hubei Province, northern Anhui Province and northern Jiangsu Province, and finally joins the Yangtze River in Sanjiangying, Jiangdu District, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, with a total length of about 1000 km. In the western part of the basin, the Funiu Mountains in western Henan are bounded by the Luo Yi River Basin, a tributary of the Yellow River, and the Hanshui River Basin, a tributary of the Yangtze River.
In the north, the South Yellow River embankment from Zhengzhou, Henan Province to Lankao and the South Yellow River embankment from Lankao to the abandoned Yellow River estuary are separated from the Yishu Sihe River basin. South to Tongbai Mountain, Dabie Mountain and Toarey Yang Canal, Dongchuan Changhe River and Hanshui River, Wanhe River, Chaohu Lake and Chuhe River on the north bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River; Eastern Yellow Sea.
Geologists in China regard the Qinling Mountains and Huaihe River between the Yangtze River and the Yellow River as the north-south dividing line in eastern China. This boundary is in Gansu, Shaanxi and Henan provinces, and basically runs along the east-west direction of Qinling and Funiu Mountain. It turns southeast in Fangcheng County, enters Anhui via Banqiao to the east, and then extends into the sea along the main stream of Huaihe River to the main irrigation canal in northern Jiangsu, with a total length of about 1.700 km.
Its south side belongs to subtropical zone, the average temperature in Leng Yue is not lower than 0℃, the rainy season is longer, and the annual average precipitation is 750 ~ 1300mm, while its north side belongs to warm temperate zone, with hot Leng Xia in winter and distinct seasons. The average daily temperature is lower than 0℃ in the cold period, generally more than 30 days, the rainy season is short, and the annual precipitation is generally below 800 mm. From the climatological point of view, the dividing line between the north and the south of China is not immutable. Climate experts predict that the reason is due to global warming.
