Is it easy to find a job in the United States for landscape architecture majors? What about Australia?
Nowadays, developing green economy and advocating green lifestyle have become the first choice for the development of every city. The landscaping market mainly includes municipal gardens and real estate gardens, which can promote the coordinated development of social, economic and ecological benefits. First of all, in the long run, the urbanization process and consumption upgrading will continue to promote the rapid growth of landscape architecture demand in China. The urbanization rate of China continues to increase, and the rapidly growing urban population will further promote the domestic urban infrastructure and housing construction, which will have a huge demand for urban landscaping. According to the Outline of National Afforestation Planning 20 1 1-2020 published by the State Forestry Administration, by 2020, the green coverage rate of urban built-up areas will reach 39.5%, and the per capita park green area will reach 1 1.7 square meters, which will accelerate the urbanization process in the central and western regions. It will become an important market for landscaping in the future. Secondly, real estate garden is also a new growth point of landscaping industry. As the construction area of real estate in 20 1 1 year reached 5 1 100 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 25%. Affected by inertia and just need, the demand for real estate gardens in the future is still guaranteed. At present, all localities actively encourage and guide the landscape greening of conservation-oriented cities, adhere to the principle of "using the least land, water and financial resources, and choosing the greening method with the least interference to the surrounding ecological environment", and embark on a road of sustainable development to enhance the ecological environment of human settlements and improve the appearance of cities. The economic benefits of three-dimensional greening are also considerable. Taking Beijing, Shanghai and other cities as examples, the cost of land acquisition and demolition in the ground greening of the old city is huge, which is close to 654.38 million yuan per square meter, while the cost of roof greening and wall greening is only 200 yuan per square meter. With the deepening of environmental protection, the state's policy assistance for urban landscape construction will be introduced during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period. What kind of economic benefits will the policy bring?
With the maturity of technical conditions such as pressure bearing, seepage prevention and plant seed selection, many cities in China are actively promoting it. Xinjiang Korla, Shihezi, Kuitun and other cities actively explore and develop the application of native tree species, turning the former desert cities into oases in the western region. There are more than 70% native tree species such as willow and Bai La lobule in the urban greening of Korla, and a large number of landscape plants with drought tolerance, salt tolerance and water saving have become the main tree species in urban greening. Garden landscape is a complex of social, natural and artistic functions. It should not only meet the social functions of ecology, environmental protection, leisure and beautification of the city, but also conform to the natural laws of plant characteristics, and at the same time embody creative ideas and personal styles in art. It may be incomplete to pursue one of these functions simply and extremely. In the garden, it is always the shade, grass, flowers and even water bodies, as well as trees and flowers. They have different design ideas and create ever-changing paintings, which is eternal. Secularization and trend will become a passer-by in a hurry. With the expansion of urban population, the increasing number of high-rise factories and vehicles has caused traffic congestion and environmental pollution. Due to human activities, a large number of solid and gas wastes are produced, and the water quality and air are polluted by noise, light, heat and visual pollution, which brings a serious crisis to human life. With the continuous development of ecology, people gradually realize that building ecological gardens based on ecological principles and practices will be the trend of urban landscape development. Ecological garden is the experience of inheriting and developing traditional gardens, following ecological principles, building a multi-level, multi-structure, multi-functional and scientific plant community, establishing a new order linking human beings, animals and plants, and achieving ecological beauty, scientific beauty, cultural beauty and artistic beauty. The application of eco-chemical industry to the development of gardens will make the ecological, social and economic benefits develop simultaneously, realize a virtuous circle and create a clean, beautiful and civilized ecological environment for mankind. How has the harmonious development between man and nature changed in the development of urban gardens?
Traditional gardens in China developed earlier, with a history of thousands of years, and enjoyed a high reputation in the world gardens. However, China's modern gardens developed late and developed rapidly after the reform and opening up. Foreign countries, such as the United States, have only a history of more than 200 years. But as far as the current scale and development level are concerned, especially the advanced development of ecological gardens has reached a convincing level. However, there is still a certain gap between China and foreign countries. With the rapid development of science and technology, the deepening of global economic integration is coming. In a positive sense, its economic aspect can promote cultural exchange, endow new content, new inspiration and new opportunities for the development of regional culture, and the exchange between regional culture and world culture can also contribute to the development of world culture. But in fact, the development of globalization is increasingly divorced from the local culture and economy, and the "strong" culture is in the "weak" regional culture. If there is no internal vitality, no clear development direction and self-improvement consciousness, and no conscious protection and development consciousness, it will appear passive and may lose creativity and competitiveness. From the differences found in the comparison of the present situation of gardens at home and abroad, we can see the space for the development and progress of the industry!
The construction of ecological gardens is reflected in maximizing the green space rate and green viewing rate, integrating human social and cultural life into green space, meeting people's needs for nature, and enabling people to live a happy and healthy life in an environment with beautiful scenery and flowers. Modern gardens should not emphasize beauty blindly, nor should they overemphasize its internationality and tourism practicality, but should focus on the humanistic requirements of modern society and meet the needs of society and people. In the process of building gardens, enterprises must meet people's urgent requirements for natural integration, improve people's living environment and guide people to return to nature through gardening. Ecological park conforms to this trend. The basic elements of eco-park are energy flow and system elasticity. It conforms to the relationship between man and nature, the characteristics of local environment and natural communities, and the law of natural evolution and renewal. Urban ecological park is an integral part of urban infrastructure and land greening, which benefits contemporary shade and future generations. It is a systematic project passed down from generation to generation. With the expansion of urban population, the increasing number of high-rise factories and vehicles has caused traffic congestion and environmental pollution. Environmental protection is a great curriculum theme that must be realized in the development of human civilization in the 2 1 century, and all countries in the world should participate in it. Urbanization should not conflict with environmental protection. The reform and innovation of urban landscaping projects will bring about the overall promotion of the industry, and the development and intensity of industries within the industry will make a new leap around the description of China's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan". With the continuous development of ecology, people gradually realize that the development of ecological gardens based on ecological principles and practices will be the development trend of urban gardens.

222222222222 China Garden Network March 2 news: On February 27, Peter walker, an internationally renowned landscape architect, gave an academic lecture at the International Conference Center of Xindu Hotel. In the afternoon expert dialogue session, Peter walker made a very detailed exposition on the development of landscape architecture industry and personal career. The following is Peter walker's view on the contribution of landscape architecture industry to global ecology and the related responsibilities of industry practitioners.
Dialogue guest: Professor CoCo Lee, Director of Landscape Architecture Department of South China Agricultural University.
Peter walker: an internationally renowned master of landscape architecture.
CoCo Lee: At present, the resources on the earth are getting scarcer and scarcer, and there is a lot of pollution. So do you think landscape architecture can change all this and save the world? .
Peter walker: I think this kind of thinking about ecology is very important, especially in the past 30 years, not only for landscape architecture, but also for the whole world.
Thirty years ago, few people would have thought that the earth would be short of water. Even scientists at that time would not consider the impact of global warming. Before that, no student would consider which project in the United States would have any impact on the tropical rain forest in Brazil. There was no such thinking decades ago, but it has become very important in the past 25 years. I am working on a project in Australia now. Australians will think that the ozone layer has been destroyed, which rarely happened 30 years ago.
Just like watching the earth floating in the air on the moon, it is mainly the change of perspective and vision. But at the same time, more importantly, as landscape architects, we must understand what we can and can't do. We must distinguish that the scale of a project is very different from that of the whole world. We may contribute to the scale of the world, but we can't fundamentally change it.
However, you can control many aspects of the project. Just like a project released this morning, rainwater can be collected for irrigation, which can save water. However, this project can't save the earth and the world. We must understand that improving the ecology is part of the efforts of the landscape architecture industry, but not the whole.
The book "Design with Nature" mentioned earlier has conveyed a very important message. The main energy of design is on landscape architecture, rather than trying to change the world through a big project.
Our projects, such as some water harvesting projects, I think we can tell you that it is feasible to maintain ecological sustainable development, because many systems like this are invisible to ordinary people, and many ecological theories and principles are invisible to ordinary people. It is important that we convey the idea that we reveal the principles related to ecology and then educate the people. This is a very important responsibility of a landscape architect.
Therefore, for the whole landscape architecture industry, we should not shoulder the responsibility of saving the earth, but at the same time we should not slack off. We should try our best to create more and better public spaces for the world. I think this is the most important place to consider in this industry.
