What are the elements of Lingnan culture?

Lingnan culture refers to the culture in Lingnan area of China, covering many contents such as academics, literature, painting, calligraphy, music, opera, crafts, architecture, gardens, folk customs, religion, diet, language, overseas Chinese culture and so on. Geographically speaking, Lingnan culture is divided into three parts: Guangdong culture, Guangxi culture and Hainan culture. Guangdong culture is divided into Guangfu culture, Chaoshan culture, Hakka culture, Leizhou culture and Gaoliang culture. In particular, Guangfu culture, Chaoshan culture and Hakka culture constitute the main body of Chinese culture in Lingnan.

History of Lingnan Civilization:

Since Qin unified Lingnan, large-scale migration from the Central Plains has promoted the development of Lingnan. From the Qin Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, Guangzhou has become an important city and foreign trade port in southern China, with famous figures such as yangfu, Yu Fan, Ge Hong, Bao Gu and Wang Fan. In the Han Dynasty, private schools such as official schools, libraries and refined houses appeared in Guangzhou. Since the Song Dynasty, the Pearl River Delta has gradually replaced northern Guangdong as the cultural center of Lingnan. By the Ming Dynasty, the Chaoshan Plain in eastern Guangdong had developed rapidly since the Song Dynasty and gradually became rich. The Ming dynasty attracted a large number of Fujian people to enter, Jiangxi sent south, and Fujian learned west, which made the culture of eastern Guangdong advance by leaps and bounds. The development of Lingnan culture reached its peak in Qing Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, the Thirteen Lines in Guangzhou became the only window for trade and cultural exchanges between China and the world, spreading oriental civilization to all parts of the world.
