1. As a permanent resident of Australia, you have permanent resident status.

2. Residence time requirements for naturalization

1) has lived in Australia for four years before applying, and at least one of these four years (i.e. 12 months) has PR status.

2) The total time to leave Australia in these four years shall not exceed one year, and you shall not leave Australia for more than 90 days in the year when you apply for naturalization.

3) The residence time in Australia as a temporary resident (such as a student visa) before becoming a permanent resident can be recognized and included in the new residence requirements, and the residence time of a temporary resident of up to three years can be recognized. Experts from the Australian Study Abroad Network pointed out that, in other words, you have lived in Australia as a temporary resident for three years before becoming a permanent resident. After obtaining permanent resident status, you can apply for citizenship after living for one year.

In order to be able to speak and understand basic English, the applicant must attend the interview and state the obligations and rights of Australian citizens in English.

4. Understand the obligations and rights of Australian citizens, and the Australian Immigration Bureau will provide relevant English materials to recite before applying.
