According to the official website, Zuogong County People's Government is affiliated to Changdu City, Xizang Autonomous Region. Zuogong County is located in the southeast of Changdu City, between 97 0 ′ and 98 7 ′ east longitude and between 28 4 ′ and 30 4 ′ north latitude, bordering Mangkang County in the east, basu county in the west, Chayu County in the south and Chaya County in the north. The county's east-west width is 122km, and its north-south length is 150km, with a total area of11840km2 (1.1.84km2). Located on the southeast edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, it is the transition zone from Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Due to the Indosinian movement in the late Triassic and the Yanshan movement in the late Bletilla period, the area was folded and uplifted from the ancient sea, thus laying the skeleton of Hengduan Mountains. Subsequently, the intense neotectonic movement formed the landform of alpine valleys, with the terrain inclined from north to south, high in the north and low in the south, high in the west and low in the east, with steep terrain, wide valley disparity, overlapping mountains, majestic mountains and high altitude. Generally, the altitude is about 4000 meters, with the highest altitude of 6700 meters and the lowest altitude of 2433 meters, with a difference of 4267 meters.
