Jinjiang has 13 towns and 6 sub-district offices (formerly 15 towns, Qingyang Town and Luoshan Town were withdrawn in 2002: Chendai, Anhai, Chidian, Zimao, Cizao, Neikeng, Dongshi, Jinjing, Longhu, Shenhu, Xibin, Yinglin and Yonghe Street).

Jinjiang City is located in the southeast coast of Fujian Province on the west bank of Taiwan Strait, southeast of Quanzhou City, and downstream of the south bank of Jinjiang.
