Why does every place have its own dialect?

Because China is a vast, resource-rich place, and it is integrated with some neighboring minority democratic countries, so that when people learn to break their mobile phones, they more or less bring their own dialects.

Today, Mandarin in China comes from the north. Its origin has always been a legend about the Republic of China, that is, "Cantonese is elected as Mandarin by one vote". But in fact, the Mandarin we speak today, from the Republic of China to New China, is not decided by one vote. Three meetings finally decided what Mandarin looks like today. Putonghua, based on northern dialects, was formulated by the National Government in 19 13.

At that time, geographically speaking, more than three-quarters of the people in Chinese-speaking areas spoke northern dialects, and the official dialects evolved from Heilongjiang, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Wuhan and other provinces and cities were also common. In terms of population, the population of northern dialects exceeds 800 million, accounting for more than 70% of the national population. Northern dialects cover more than half of the territory of China. Apart from the differences in tones and words, there are basically no communication barriers between different Putonghua. More than 3,000 years ago, China was still budding in a small part of the Central Plains. The first immigrants came from Wu Taibo, a tribal aristocrat in the Northwest Zhou Dynasty. He brought technology and accent from the Central Plains.

At that time, the Jiangnan area had not been developed. Most of the aborigines there are Baiyue people, and the language used is Taitung. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the State of Wu and Yue rose in the State of Wu. In order to integrate into the culture of the Central Plains, local people began to actively learn this elegant and popular language in the Central Plains (similar to Mandarin today), and the northern accent also influenced the later Wu dialect. With the expansion of Chu to the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Chu dialect also participated in the formation of Wu dialect. Later, during the Qin and Han dynasties, the central government set up officials here. Primitive immigrants from the north began to station in Suzhou, Shaoxing and Xuancheng.

So Wu dialect is developed around these cities. The area of ancient Wu dialect is much larger than today, including parts of northern Jiangsu, Anhui and Jiangxi, forming its own dialect area. So now every place in China has its own dialect.
