Is Lu Guan Reservoir jointly built by Jiaozhou and Gaomi?

Lu Guan Reservoir is a large water storage reservoir located at the junction of jiaozhou city and gaomi city in Qingdao, which was built to alleviate the increasingly serious water shortage in Jiaodong area, especially in Qingdao. The main task of Lu Guan Reservoir is to store the newly-increased Yangtze River water allocated by the follow-up project of South-to-North Water Transfer Project. Before the new river water supply, it will be used as the water storage project of the Yellow River East Water Transfer Project and part of the water in the Yellow River Diversion Main Canal to supply water to Qingdao and Weifang gaomi city.

Lu Guan Reservoir Project involves three county-level cities: jiaozhou city, pingdu city and gaomi city. The project mainly includes dam, storage pumping station, Qingdao storage pumping station, high-density Pingdu storage pumping station, drainage and emptying, water diversion from Moshui River and Shunxi River, and connecting the Yellow River with Qingdao. Lu Guan Reservoir Project has passed the environmental impact assessment and solicited public opinions. This project is an encouraged construction project, which conforms to the national industrial policy and related planning.
