Application conditions and language requirements of the University of Southern California

Let's learn about the application conditions and language requirements of the University of Southern California. Welcome to reading.

International applicants who are considered as international students?

At the University of Southern California, an international student refers to an individual of foreign nationality who is about to enter or has already entered the United States on a student visa. Students who already live in the United States and hold other non-immigrant visas (such as E2, H2 or L2) are also considered as international students.

With a few exceptions mentioned below, international students follow the same application procedures as other first-year or transfer applicants. We are familiar with the educational systems of most countries and will consider your application according to your educational environment.

Please write down your passport name on the application form. If the name on your report card is different from that on your passport, please enter the name on your report card in the "Preferred Name" section. All international applicants must provide a permanent and actual mailing address (this is not a post office box).

Who will be considered as an international student?

Overseas third-party interview for first-year undergraduate applicants

We know that overseas students, especially those in China, are increasingly interested in expressing themselves outside the written application process. However, because our on-campus and off-campus undergraduate entrance interviews are only provided in the United States, it is difficult for overseas applicants to attend these meetings.

In order to provide more interview opportunities for applicants in China, we signed a contract with Vericant, who will conduct video interviews and collect short writing samples.

This information will be sent to USC and included in the application, which will be reviewed and evaluated by USC Admission Committee. Vericant does not evaluate applicants.

Just like face-to-face interviews on and off campus, real interviews are optional. On average, only 20% first-year applicants choose to interview us. History shows that there is no obvious difference in the admission rate of students who have not interviewed. Although we signed a contract with Vericant, we will also accept video interviews of applicants through other third-party companies. Please note that your USC application fee does not include the real interview fee. To learn more about Vericant and arrange an interview, please visit Vericant's website.
