What procedures do mainlanders need to go through to work in Hong Kong?

Mainlanders who want to work in Hong Kong need to apply for a Hong Kong and Macao Pass to stay and endorse.

Instructions for handling stay endorsement:

Persons who go to Hong Kong for internship, education, employment, residence and training, or those who go to Hong Kong as dependants, must submit the original entry permit issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department and submit a copy.

If you apply for employment in Hong Kong through a labor management company, you must also submit a copy of the Audit Form for Labor Cooperation Projects in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region issued by the relevant local commercial authorities.

If you continue to apply for a stay endorsement after the expiration of the validity period, submit the original extension permit issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department and submit a copy.

The Interim Measures for the Administration of China Citizens' Private Travel to or from Hongkong or Macao stipulates that:

Article 9 Mainland citizens who apply for going to Hong Kong and Macao for personal reasons must answer relevant inquiries and go through the following procedures:

(1) Submit the household registration book or other household registration certificates.
