Pearl Harbor is located on the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands, on the plain between the lowest point of Mount Waianai in the south of Oahu and the only deep-water port, Lulu Port in Honolulu. It is not only the base of the US Navy and shipbuilding base, but also the best and largest safe anchorage for the North Pacific Islands. Ordinary civilian ships and foreign ships are not allowed to enter this port without the special permission of the US Navy Department.
