The development of history

Heyuan has a long history and outstanding people. It is an ancient Hakka town with a history of more than 2,200 years. All the five counties and one district in the whole territory are Hakka settlements, and it is the only prefecture-level city in Chinese mainland that is purely Hakka. With Xinfengjiang as the boundary, the tea city is divided into new and old cities. The old city has a history of more than 1500 years, while jiangbei new city is the new city after 1988. There are historical sites such as Neolithic ruins, Zhengxiang Pagoda in Tang Dynasty, Guifeng Pagoda in Song Dynasty, and the ancestral home of Sun Yat-sen (the first generation of Fujian and Guangdong people). Heyuan belonged to Nanhai County in the Han Dynasty, Dongguan County in the Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Lianghua County in the second year of the Governor's reign (503), and Zhou Xun in the Sui and Tang Dynasties (later renamed Longchuan County and County). ).
