Background of industrial clusters in Xichuan County

As the head of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project and a big immigrant county, Xichuan's development and construction has been closely related to national interests since the 1950s. At the same time, Danjiangkou Reservoir, as the water diversion source of the Middle Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project, environmental protection has become the top priority beyond economic development, and the resettlement of eliminated and relocated enterprises has also become a major social issue beyond economic benefits.

The junction of Houpo Town, Xianghua Town and Jiuzhong Town is the only place in Xichuan that is not in the catchment area. Rivers in the area do not flow to Danjiang River, and enterprises put them inside to ensure that the water source of South-to-North Water Transfer Project is not polluted.
