Visa-free access to Guatemala

Germany, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands and Central American countries.

Guatemala's Freedom newspaper reported that Guatemala's Immigration Bureau (IGM) recently issued resolution 05-202 1, announcing partial revision of foreign visa policies and expanding visa-free groups, aiming at attracting more international tourists. The Immigration Bureau divides countries into three categories: citizens of A, B and C ... A countries can enter Guatemala without a visa, such as Germany, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands and Central American countries; Citizens of Class B countries need to obtain consular visas through Guatemalan embassies and consulates, such as Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Jamaica, Egypt and the Philippines. Visas of citizens of Class C countries need to be processed in IGM through relevant Guatemalan institutions, including Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela and Dominica. According to the original policy, valid visa holders of the United States, Canada and Schengen countries in Class B and C countries can enter Guatemala without a visa. The new resolution after the reform has included Mexico in this ranks, that is, holders of valid visas in Mexico can also be exempted from visas. According to the Immigration Bureau, the move aims to attract more international tourists and promote the post-epidemic recovery of tourism and economy.
