Nanma was approved as a town by the provincial government in 1982. Town streets are like chessboards, and the intersections of Zhenxing Road, Jiankang Road and Lishan Road are the most prosperous. According to the unearthed cultural relics of the Shang Dynasty, we can know that there were villages in the Shang Dynasty, and according to the inscription on the pavilion: "In the Tang Dynasty 10 (AD 636), villagers raised funds to repair the pavilion", which shows that the villages in the Tang Dynasty were quite large. Xu's genealogy records that "Ming Hongwu, Xu Long and Xu Feng moved from Xujiazhuang and Xintai to Nanma", and Bai's genealogy records that "in the Six Dynasties, his eldest son lived in Zhifangji, Linqu County, and the four branches of Dragon, Tiger and Leopard moved to Nanma." The original village was named Dongxi Zhuangzi. Later, Huang planted hemp fields in the south of the village and settled here, forming a village called Nanmadi. During the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1644), it was called Nanma until now.
