How to apply for a China passport? What are the requirements?

Passport is a legal document issued by a country to prove the nationality and identity of its citizens when they enter and leave the country and travel or stay abroad. So how to apply for a passport?

(1) Passport handling place: the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Public Security Bureau handles it uniformly. Citizens can go to the exit-entry management office of the public security bureau where their household registration is located. If you are a soldier, you can go to the exit-entry management office of the public security bureau of your unit or work unit.

(2) Procedures for handling passports

1, get the exit application form. Bring my ID card or other household registration certificate or residence booklet to the local police station and the exit-entry administration department of the Public Security Bureau to receive the "Approval Form for China Citizens Going Abroad for Private Purposes";

2. Fill in the application form. This form is in quadruplicate, all of which should be filled in, and each item should be consistent with the information in the household registration book. The application number is printed in the upper right corner of the form (all four forms have the same number), so you must remember this number for future enquiries.

3. Submit an application. When submitting an application, you must bring the original ID card or residence booklet, the first page of residence booklet, personal information page, change page and a copy of your ID card, fill in the complete original application form, and prepare two recent 2-inch bareheaded color photos that meet the requirements;

4. Pay the fee. After submitting the application, the applicant shall immediately pay the fee at the toll booth with the Receipt of Application for Going Abroad for Private Business, and the applicant shall pay the fee on the day of acceptance. If the payment is overdue, the date of receiving the certificate will be notified separately. If the payment is not made within one month after the application, it will be deemed as a waiver of the application, and the application materials will not be returned to me;

5. Time limit for processing. After accepting the application, the local entry-exit administration office takes different time to approve and issue passports, generally around 15 working days;

6. get a passport. You can pick up your passport yourself, or pick it up for others, or by express delivery.

(3) Matters needing attention in handling passports:

1. Personal collection: the applicant must collect the documents on time according to the date of evidence collection indicated on the receipt of the application for going abroad (or the date of evidence collection notified by the exit-entry administration department. On the day of obtaining evidence, the applicant himself will show the receipt of the application for going abroad for personal reasons and the receipt of payment, and bring the resident ID card or household registration book to the entry-exit reception hall where the application is accepted to collect the documents. After receiving the certificate, please carefully check the contents of the certificate. If there are any mistakes, please correct them in time.

2. Holding on behalf of the holder: The holder carries the Receipt of Application for Going Abroad for Private Purposes, his ID card and a copy of the passport applicant's ID card to the entry-exit administration office to collect the passport.

3. Pick it up by post: If you want to choose express delivery, you must go through the formalities at the postal express counter of the entry-exit administration office and pay the express delivery fee on the day of passport application with the Receipt of Application for Going Abroad for Private Business. The express delivery scope is subject to the regulations of the local entry-exit administration office.

4. Passport documents are not allowed on weekends.
