Hongsibao District, wuzhong, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, formerly known as Hongsibao Development Zone, is the second municipal district of wuzhong, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is the main battlefield of the national large-scale water conservancy project-Ningxia Yellow River Diversion Irrigation Project for Poverty Alleviation ("1236" project), and it is the largest concentration area of ecological poverty alleviation immigrants in China.

Hongsibao District is located between Tongyan Mountain, Luoda Mountain and Niushou Mountain, bordering Yanchi in the east, Zhongning in the west, Tongxin in the south and Litong District and Lingwu in the north. It is about 80 kilometers long from east to west and 40 kilometers wide from north to south, with an area of 2,767 square kilometers. Developed land is 3 1.64 million mu. At an altitude of1240 ~1450m, it is an intermountain basin with a moderate temperate arid climate.

Hongsibao is located at10543' 45 "-10642' 50" east longitude and 37 28' 08 "-37 37' 23" north latitude, covering an area of 2,767 square kilometers.

It is the geographical center of Ningxia, bordering Litong District, Qingtongxia City and lingwu city in the north, Tongxin County in the south, Yanchi County in the east and Zhongning County in the northwest. It is 27km away from the provincial capital Yinchuan/Kloc-0 in the north, 220km away from Guyuan in the south and 360km away from Lanzhou in Gansu Province in the west.

3. Climate

Hongsibu district belongs to a typical temperate continental climate, with drought and little rain all year round and large temperature difference between day and night. The average annual precipitation is 25 1mm, and the average annual evaporation is 2387mm, which is 9 times of the precipitation.

The annual average temperature is 8.7℃, the daily temperature difference 13.7℃, and the annual accumulated temperature >: 10℃ can reach above 3200℃. The annual sunshine hours in Hongsibu District are 2900~3550 hours, the annual average wind speed is 2.9m/s~3.7m/s, and the windy days are 25 days.

4. Biological resources

Luoshan is located in the southeast of Hongsibao District. In July 2002, Luoshan was designated as a national nature reserve by the State Council. There are 275 species of higher plants and 4 species of wild animals1/kloc-0 in the nature reserve, among which 22 species, such as golden eagle, leopard cat and lynx, belong to the national key protected wild animals and are listed in the list of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
