History of Ji Hua Middle School in Chongqing

Chongqing and Huazhong School was founded in 1995, adjacent to Chongqing Jiangbei Airport. It is a high-level complete middle school jointly established by Yubei District Government, the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Jinan University and Huaqiao University, aiming at solving the enrollment problems of immigrant children in the Three Gorges reservoir area and children of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives in Chongqing. The school was named "Jihua Middle School" after Jinan University and Huaqiao University. The name of the school was inscribed by Qian Weichang, the father of modern mechanics in China and a world-famous scientist and educator. It is a key middle school in Chongqing, a Chinese education base of the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, a national model school of basic education reform, an experimental base of education and scientific research in Chongqing, a green school in Chongqing and a DSD education project school in Germany.

In the past ten years, the school has hosted and participated in more than 40 national, municipal and district-level scientific research projects, 14 won the Chongqing basic education scientific research achievement award, edited and published 2 teachers' papers, published 3 monographs, 260 teachers won the national and municipal competition awards, more than 760 scientific research papers won the municipal and district excellent scientific research achievement award, and 560 papers were published in various journals. It has successively won the honorary title of 168 at the national, municipal and district levels, and won the first prize for the supervision and evaluation of school-running level in Yubei District for 16 years.
