1. Affiliation: China Maritime Supervision Corps is affiliated to the State Oceanic Administration and the civil affairs department. Responsibilities are mainly to perform cruise surveillance and law enforcement tasks in the waters under the jurisdiction of China. The Marine Police Force of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force is an armed force under the command of the Central Military Commission (CMC). As a part of the People's Liberation Army, it is responsible for safeguarding national sovereignty and security.

2. Functions and tasks: China Maritime Supervision Corps mainly undertakes the functions of cruising according to law, implementing administrative law enforcement and protecting environmental resources. To investigate and deal with violations of relevant regulations, violations of China's territorial interests, destruction of environmental resources and other illegal acts, and carry out other related work entrusted or authorized. The Marine Police Force of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force focuses on safeguarding national territorial integrity, security and stability, and plays an important role in frontier defense, responding to emergencies and cracking down on illegal activities.
