Is Changxing Taihu Wetland Development restricted by Suzhou’s jurisdiction? (Journey Notes Part 6)

Yesterday morning, we conducted a short experiential tour to the farming island area of ??Taihu Tuying Ecological Wetland Cultural Park in Changxing, Zhejiang Province. Everyone felt that it was not very enjoyable, and they felt that Changxing County’s development of Taihu Lake was not strong enough. In order to make up for this regret, the local tour guide in Changxing let the tour bus take a tour around Taihu Lake, which satisfied everyone's yearning for Taihu Lake.

"Taihu Lake is beautiful, and the beauty lies in the water of Taihu Lake." It really sings into the hearts of every resident living on the shores of Taihu Lake and tourists who have visited the scenery of Taihu Lake.

I checked the information. The reason is that Changxing County and Wuxing District in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, which are close to Taihu Lake, do not have much management rights over the waters of Taihu Lake, while Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, which is located in the north of Taihu Lake, does. Stretching its "arm" to the southwest of Taihu Lake, it almost reaches the county border of Changxing County and Wuxing District of Huzhou City.

Taihu Lake is located between Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, but Taihu Lake is not under the jurisdiction of the two provinces, but almost entirely under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu. Why is this?

In order to avoid the control of the platform’s publication rights, interested friends who want to know the reasons for Suzhou’s long-arm jurisdiction can go to the “comment area” of this article to find out.

Some netizens believe that administrative jurisdiction and development and utilization rights are different. The administrative division of Taihu Lake in Huzhou is very small, only fifty meters away from the lake shore. However, the Huzhou Taihu Tourist Resort Management Committee has the development and utilization rights of 300 square kilometers, and these 300 square kilometers of lake area are still nominally owned by Administrative division of Jiangsu.

What is touching is that although Changxing County in the Taihu Lake area has not been able to share too much of the Taihu Lake dividends, it has still advanced into the top 100 counties in the country with their hard work and wisdom.
