About the short-term study visa in the UK, ask for help
Because the landlord will go to England for an exchange semester next semester, he applied for a short-term study visa. The reasons for not applying for Level 4 are:
(1) does not need CAS, and all kinds of materials to be submitted will be much less, which is very convenient;
② At that time, I was very worried about whether to review Tier 4, because I wanted to go to Europe and apply for a Schengen visa in the UK. But in fact, even with Tier 4, when applying for Schengen in the UK, the validity of the UK visa will take more than three months. Therefore, even if the short-term exchange is T4, it is still impossible to apply for Schengen in the UK, and it still needs to be handled in advance in China. 3 save money! Save time! Because it is a tourist visa, the processing speed is generally faster than T4;
4 no interview is needed! T4 must have a chance to be drawn for an interview.
Step 1: Apply online.
First, you need to fill in the application form online on the website of the UK Visa and Immigration Bureau (www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk). For the short -$ TERM study visa, the information found on the Internet before is too old, and many of them are out of date. In the latest application system, its selection category has changed greatly and needs to be selected.
Study → study (non-integral system) → short-term students 6/ 1 1 month
Then, just fill it out and it will be finished in an hour or two.
Some tips:
(1) The passport issuing agency cannot write the full name, but it can write the abbreviation "MPS EXIT ENTRY ADMIN".
"
(2) Before the final submission of the form and payment, materials need to be prepared, and at least a deposit certificate should be issued. In other words, you submitted the form and paid it on July 3, so you must get the deposit certificate before July 2 at the latest;
(3) There will be some delay in making the pdf file of the final application form. After the payment is successful, clicking "View my application" may display "Your application is being processed". Don't worry, a pdf will be generated after a while. Just wait patiently. If a pdf is generated, there will be an email reminder;
(4) if you can't fill it out at one time, you can click Save on the left and fill it out later. Of course, fill it in as soon as possible after saving, because there is only a certain storage period (the information found seems to be one month, and the specific storage is unknown).
(thinking of adding)
Step 2: Material preparation
The material requirements for short-term study are relatively simple. The requirements on the official website are:
All applicants must submit:
A valid travel document or passport must contain at least one blank page.
② Print the online visa application form.
(3) proof of funds (please submit the original) shows that you have enough funds to pay for travel expenses, such as bank running water or passbook or deposit certificate in the name of you or your parents or legal guardian.
(4) An invitation letter from an educational institution in the UK, including the name and level of the course, the duration of the course, tuition fees, accommodation fees and any fees you have paid.
⑤ Your on-the-job or school certificate, such as work certificate; Or business license (if self-employed/shareholder); Or a certificate issued by the school;
⑥ Past travel records (if applicable), such as old passports.
⑦ Translation of independently accessible non-English materials. The translator must confirm in the translation that * is the correct translation of the original text * translation date * translator's full name and signature * translator's contact information.
Of course, if the funds are not in your personal name, it will be very troublesome for parents to write proof of financial aid and proof of parents' salary, so I suggest you deposit them in your personal name, so you only need to submit proof of deposit.
On the basis of official requirements, I finally submitted the following materials:
1, passport
Need two copies of the first page of your passport! One is used as proof material, and the other is used as a certificate for self-collection.
I also made two copies of the existing visa page.
2. Online application form
3. Appointment confirmation form
After making an appointment for payment, you can find "Print Appointment Details" in "View My Application", which is the appointment confirmation form. This reservation voucher is necessary to log in to the visa center.
4. Proof of deposit
(1) On the question of whether funds need to be kept for 28 days, we consulted British schools and got the answer:
When applying for a short-term study visa, you need to prove that you have enough money to support yourself without working during your stay in the UK (such as paying your tuition, accommodation and living expenses).
Using only level 4 maintenance data as a reference, you should prove that you have the equivalent of? Every month during the course 1, 0 15. Unlike the Level 4 application, you don't need to prove that the money has been deposited in your account for 28 days at the time of application.
That is to say, a short-term $ TERM visa for studying abroad does not need to prove that the funds have been deposited for 28 days like T4, and it is not required in the official website of the British Visa Immigration Office. It just says: You can support your evidence during your trip, such as bank statements or payments in the last 6 months. Pay attention to this, that is to say, if there is no bank deposit certificate, it is ok to use the bank running list for half a year. In contrast, in T4 requirements, specific requirements such as 28-day deposit are mentioned.
(2) If (Bank of China) transfers money to a bank card, the deposit certificate issued by the current account has no deposit date; Only time deposits, certificates issued like certificates of deposit, have deposit dates. If you really don't feel at ease, if you have to prove that the funds have been deposited for 28 days, please be careful not to deposit them, but to deposit them regularly!
③ I have seen it on the Internet before, and the word "frozen" is not allowed on the deposit certificate, otherwise the visa will be refused, which is mentioned in the English requirements of official website. However, in the Chinese page of official website, it seems that it specifically mentions the acceptance of frozen certificates of deposit in China (please check this point, I can't seem to find the original text). After all, you can't open a certificate of deposit without freezing it! In particular, there is no word "frozen" on the certificate of deposit of China Bank, but in the detailed instructions on the back, it is written that the funds cannot be used within the validity period of this certificate of deposit.
5. Admission certificate
6. Reading Certificate (English)
7. China school transcripts (English)
8. IELTS test report
9. Household registration book and translation.
Templates found online can be submitted to the original. (When handing in the materials, the teller who received the materials told me that the application would be faster if the original was handed in. I don't know if it is true or not. )
I made a copy of all the above materials except my passport. Because the certificates and transcripts provided by the school are both in Chinese and English, I only translated the household registration book, but the translator should be marked. After I translated it myself, I wrote my classmates' names and contact information. Try not to write about yourself.
Finally, don't take photos, take them on the spot!
Step 3: hand in your signature.
I don't know about other areas. The British visa reception center in Beijing must arrive at the appointed time! You won't be allowed to go in early, and you won't be able to go in until the hour (or there may be a lot of people on the day I hand in my signature)! If you are late, you can pay a fine to enter (it seems to be 300 yuan) within a certain period of time, otherwise you can only make a new appointment. Anyway, it's a pit. Just arrive fifteen minutes early. It's no use getting there early!
② Bring amusement equipment. After I went in, there were 200 people in front. This can't be terrible! Fortunately, I brought my iPad and waited about 1 hour for 45 minutes before it was my turn to watch Game of Thrones. Results The actual completion took less than 15 minutes. (digression, try not to watch Game of Thrones in public ... it makes me nervous, and the embarrassing scenes that appear from time to time are really ... haha)
③ The process is as follows:
The screen displays your number → Enter the corresponding material submission window → After the counting is completed, the teller puts the materials into a special folder → Wait again → Your number appears on the screen again, enter the corresponding room, press your fingerprint and take photos (wear dark clothes).
Step 4: Wait for the result.
It's quite painful! And there is no news on the internet, and no mail has been received. At that time, the teller didn't recommend SMS service to me, so there is no news now.
However, you can visit:
Select China from the drop-down menu and you will receive the result in one day.
