Help, French long-term work visa
A visa is a certificate that allows you to enter France. Three months is the duration of the visa. If you do not enter France within three months, then it will become invalid and you must apply again.
Once you enter France, it guarantees that you are legally staying in France within a three-month period. If you exceed the period, you are illegally staying in France.
One-year long-term residence proves that you have the right to legally stay in France for one year. Once you get this, your visa is useless and you do not need to return to your country to renew it. You can either apply for a new residence permit in France at the end of the year, or you can return to your home country and apply for a new visa next time you come to France.
