What documents do I need to use to go abroad for personal reasons? Passports of the People's Republic of China, commonly known as "ordinary passports", are used abroad for personal reasons and are different from "official passports". There are two kinds of "ordinary passports": one is a passport for going abroad for personal reasons, which is valid for five years and can be extended twice, each time not exceeding five years; The other category is passports held by people who participate in overseas tour groups. Valid for one year, valid only once when entering or leaving the country with the tour group. Extension procedures are not allowed at home and abroad, and replacement or renewal procedures are not required overseas. 7. How to handle the formalities of passport extension, renewal, replacement, change of reasons for leaving the country and change of destination country? 1, apply for an extension. Passport holders can apply for an extension within 6 months before the expiration of their passports, without submitting supporting materials. Under special circumstances (such as the foreign visa is not valid enough), you can apply for an extension in advance with the relevant visa certificate. Passports beyond the validity period are invalid passports, and there is no need to go through extension procedures. 2. Apply for renewal and replacement. If the passport is about to expire because of two extensions, or the validity period cannot be extended because the visa page is used up, or it can't be used anymore because of damage, you can apply for renewal without submitting supporting materials. If the passport is lost, you can apply for a new passport without submitting other supporting materials after obtaining the certificate of loss issued by the police station where the passport was lost and declaring it invalid in the newspaper. 3. Change the reason for leaving the country. Public security organs issue passports with exit registration cards. The reasons for leaving the country are "settlement", "short-term departure" and "tourism". Except for "settlement" and "tourism" (referring to going abroad in groups), other reasons for leaving the country are uniformly filled in as "short-term exit". Holding an exit registration card for the purpose of "settlement", those who have obtained other visas except group tourist visas may leave the country without renewing the exit registration card. Those who hold a "short-term exit" exit registration card and obtain a long-term residence visa will agree to renew the "settlement" exit registration card on the basis of the long-term residence visa of the country where they go and the local police station where their unit or account is located. 4. Change the destination country. If you change your destination country before leaving the country for the first time after getting your passport, you need to use the entry visa of the destination country to renew your exit registration card, and you don't need to submit other supporting materials. If you need to change your destination country without obtaining an entry visa, you should re-apply in accordance with the relevant provisions in Articles 2, 3 and 4 of this document. The above procedures, except for China citizens who have lived abroad to apply for passport extension, renewal or replacement, other procedures shall be handled by the passport holder at the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ at the prefecture-level city where the account is located (the personnel under the jurisdiction of the provincial unit shall apply to the exit-entry administration department of the provincial department). 8. According to the regulations of the State Price Bureau and the Ministry of Finance, RMB 100 is charged for each passport; The above handling fee is RMB 5 yuan; The fee for passport extension, countersigning and filling is 20 yuan each.
