American relative immigration application procedure

You can enter the United States with a green card as an immediate family member. Details are as follows:

1, China's immigration law allows American citizens to apply for green cards for their immediate family members, including: 1) spouses, 2) unmarried children under 2 1, and 3) parents, requiring American citizens to be above 21. Immediate family members have priority when obtaining a green card, and there is no need for scheduling and quota restrictions.

2. Application process and form:

If the immediate family members are in the United States, the relatives themselves need to submit form I-485 to apply for registration as permanent residents or adjust their status, and at the same time, American citizens need to submit form I- 130 to apply for immigration of foreign relatives. Both forms can be submitted at the same time. It can also be done in two steps. The first step is for American citizens to apply for I- 130. After receiving the I-797 form (I-797 form is a form to inform me that I- 130 form has been received or approved), the immediate family members will submit the I-485 form themselves.

If immediate family members are outside the United States, they need to complete the green card application through consular procedures. The Immigration Bureau and the State Council will jointly examine and approve the I- 130 form, and then issue visas to the immediate family members. After obtaining the visa, the immediate family members entered the United States with the visa and officially obtained the green card status when they entered the US Customs.

It should be noted that after submitting the I- 130 application, the State Council will inform the immediate family members of the time when they can apply for an immigrant visa. Within one year after receiving the notice, the immediate family members will apply for a visa, otherwise the immigration application will be terminated.
