The road of tears is also called the road of blood and tears.

Indians who want to live far away from their ancestral homes certainly oppose these treaties, but the American government has made them pass by bribing tribal chiefs a lot.

1833, the first batch of choctaw Indians were forced to leave their native land in the east and go to Indian territory under the armed escort of the US military. Indian territory extends from the southern border with Texas to the southern part of the Great Plains in the middle reaches of the Missouri River. The American government initially guaranteed that this area was the permanent residence of Indians and prohibited white immigrants from coming here. Of course, these promises later turned into empty promises, and this place became the territory of white settlers. One tribe after another, Delaware tribe in the east, Ottawa tribe, Miami tribe and so on, all moved into Indian territory one after another.

1838, the last Cherokee people in Georgia left their hometown in tears and went to the west under the bullets and bayonets of soldiers. The route taken by their immigrants is the famous "road of tears" in the history of American western development. In six years, 90,000 Indians were forced to move westward, and many of them died in the middle of the "road of blood and tears".
