After the Zipingpu Reservoir is completed, it can provide 20 cubic meters/second of environmental protection water to Chengdu during the dry season, increasing the annual water supply by 315 million cubic meters, and making the water quality of Fuhe and Nanhe reach the third-level surface water standard during the dry season.

6. Protect the Dujiangyan World Cultural Heritage and improve the ecological environment of the upper reaches of the Minjiang River. It can effectively control the amount of floods and sediment in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River, provide guarantee for the safe operation of water conservancy facilities in Dujiangyan and the irrigation area, and effectively protect the Dujiangyan World Cultural Heritage. The relocation of immigrants from the reservoir area to beneficiary counties (cities, districts) in the Chengdu Plain plays an important role in alleviating poverty, returning farmland to forests, conserving water sources, and establishing a natural forest protection project in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River.
