The harm of Europe's high pension

First, excessive welfare inhibits the internal motivation of national fertility, leading to an aging population structure.

Even in a welfare society, people who enjoy pensions ultimately have to rely on social workers to support them. In a society with a low level of old-age security, there is a very direct relationship between "raising children and preventing old age" at the level of individuals and families who undertake fertility decisions, and citizens have a strong internal motivation to support the elderly. The old-age security cut off this direct connection, thus greatly weakening the internal motivation of the people to support the elderly. The traditional family structure has encountered unprecedented challenges, the fertility rate has dropped sharply, and the population structure has accelerated aging. As far as the whole society is concerned, the population tends to be aging. In order to maintain a high standard of living and welfare, there are only two ways to increase the labor force participation rate and introduce a large number of young and middle-aged immigrant laborers.

Second, excessive welfare reduces the labor motivation of workers and raises the labor cost to an unreasonable level, thus generating objective demand and strong attraction for foreign labor for a considerable period of time.

The high welfare environment has caused the problem of "power vacuum" and blocked the way to improve the labor force participation rate. The social security and welfare system eased and eliminated the biggest driving force of "hunger discipline", but it did not produce a new driving force, and the phenomenon of slack labor discipline, declining work enthusiasm and not actively seeking re-employment after unemployment spread. Even workers who have gone beyond the "hunger discipline" have to bear high taxes under high welfare, and their labor enthusiasm has suffered heavy losses.

Third, excessive welfare also leads to the deterioration of a country's industrial structure. The consequences of high welfare in developed countries include high tax burden, high cost and lax labor discipline, so the industries that move out basically belong to manufacturing and related industries that require relatively high skills of workers. Most of the jobs left in the home country belong to the life service industry with low skill requirements. With the passage of time, the industrial and employment structure of the home country has deteriorated accordingly. The labor force in the home country doesn't pay much attention to these life services left at home, so there are a lot of job vacancies and high unemployment rate in developed countries. But these jobs are attractive and capable to the labor force in developing countries.

Immigrant Dilemma Caused by Excessive Welfare

For the above reasons, politicians and elites in some western countries have taken in a large number of refugees under the banner of "absorbing young and middle-aged labor".

However, excessive social security and welfare system indirectly caused the economic pressure of introducing young and middle-aged migrant workers, but encouraged the growth of foreign immigrants who did not work for their own livelihood and refused to integrate into the host society, which frustrated the expectation of eliminating social support pressure by introducing young and middle-aged migrant workers to some extent.
